If you was born in the 60s like me. You can be miss diagnosed because they were not up on technology and research like they are now. They just gave you a test and if you didn't pass it you was considered slow. And stuck in a special ed class That is why it took Chris so long to be diagnosed But God blessed him so much.
It’s good to have recognition for NLD/NVLD. Something unique about NLD is that people with NLD have good verbal skills and poor visual skills. I would change the words “suffer” and “admit to.” You can have NLD and a happy mood, and you don’t have to “admit to” anything. Also, to several commenters, in some ways it is kind to not think of every difference as a disorder, but in some ways it is not kind to doubt the disorder. That can be dismissive.
I have kinda the opposite - I’m very visual and very good at recognising social cues and nuances, when someone is upset with me or when I’m being well received etc. But I’m TERRIBLE with words and expressing myself. So many people get confused by my ability to read a room and detect social/emotional nuances but complete inability to socially reciprocate.
People with NLD read well, talk a lot, and remember things spoken to them. They lack the ability to understand the non verbal elements of communication including tone of voice.

Another thing they often struggle with is maths since it's usually a nonverbal process and it requires a certain degree of spatial skills which people with NVLD are lacking in since its a disability that effects visouspatial skills primarily. But they do have very noticeable strengths that are characteristic of the disorder like advanced verbal ability like in reading, writing, listening and talking with alot of people with it having advanced language skills. They very detail driven and have acute hearing.
