BTW: I certainly didn't choose the right business to get into there, as the equipment is far too expensive for me at this time. But, I will be shifting focus to a better choice very soon. :)
I opened a restaurant, then quickly closed it. Opened up a liquor store (cigars and wine), and I am using 19 boxes of wine per week! Also..my clothing store gets me 22k profit, a DAY.
You checked Garment's district demand, but opened store in Murray Hill. Sounds about right :) Also it's easier to just turn off particular day for a sec, than move around employees on schedule. Marketing is meant to increase customer numbers. It won't break hard coded building and equipment limits though. So...
Keep the higher customer capacity building for the clothing store later on as the clothing business has many racks and it would be easy to separate different gender clothes in an organised manner.
BTW the 43" TV from furniture store works similar to the gaming pc when placed in apartment and gives extra happiness, it helps keep employees requiring peaceful work environment happy
You can turn on run by default in stores. You can also sell any items in any space. Also, since you have 2 hr managers if you assign them to each other they’ll train each other up to 100 and just make sure that new ones get assigned to an existing one and you won’t have to keep manually training new hires. Shouldn’t need a lot though each one manages 25 employees at 100%.
The downtown retail often has no bathroom and no stock room but seems to work. The absence of any public Bathroom is particularly realistic. If there's ever a Paris map there should be five bathrooms total, and they time you and open automatically to self clean. Also, on the hot dog grills it's traditional to have them flank the cash registers, very convenient. Of course no real macro effect but the Cashiers will look more effective.
Charlie What I'd do is.. get the smaller building.. get it up and running making profit... Then rent the bigger place, move everything over, and cancel contract on smaller place.. it'd allow you to be making profit with lesser expense until everything is all up and running, then BAM! super expansion :D store name.. FEDORA FOODS ;) you MIIIIGHT wanna increase your shelving in the warehouse so you can store more things ;)

Hi, I've tried experimenting delling both flowers and jewelries in the gift shop. Flowers can be sold, but jewelries sre still not being brought after several days. Is this intentional?
Bought this game last night. Played it for most of the morning today. I run a wellness business for a living and for some reason, though in the game I was dealing with much of what I do in real life, I am hooked. 😅 I was late for a work get together because this is one of those “one more day,” “one more task” kind of games. What have you done to me, Charlie? 😊
I feel like you’re limiting your profit margins for the restaurant. The profit potential is more than suitable for a much higher customer capacity. If you were to use that larger building for the restaurant and turn the current location into something such as a grocery store since the product types are limited then it would’ve been much better
@30:42 maybe I'm an idiot (I am getting ready to buy the game right after I finish watching this video 😅)... But it seems your order is not more than $6,000. It seems to me you are never going to make a purchase. Maybe I'm missing something?
It's a # target to hit for stocking the warehouse. That purchase number fluctuates. Simply put, at my current stock # requested, vs my current stock available, I would have to purchase X dollars of goods. If I'm close to my requested number in the warehouse, enough to where an order to get me to my target is under the minimum order, then no purchase will happen. However, I'm constantly using stuff, so the following day, that order is going to be heavier, and when it does tick up to be over the minimum, I'll order to hit my target as of midnight on that day rollover. Make sense?
Watching your media, day 50 10th attempt to make a BUC. Lil mistakes add up, its no fun to save and back up. Hard mode is nightmare material. No drama no edits I like
"I want to be able to put in a mix of products"... You can. You can put anything you want in a store, but it must have *at least one* of the shop type's primary product, eg a gift shop *must have* either cheap gifts or expensive gifts, but you can also sell flowers too...
@@CharliePryor It's working on my playthrough, the gift shop is selling flowers as a secondary. The primary products are the main sellers, but sometimes customers buy the secondaries too, it does boost the store's profit. I don't know if it works with every product in every shop type, I haven't tested it extensively, but some items seem to work with others.
@@CharliePryor In beta 9 it worked for me, no issues. as long as you meet the requirements for the max customers pr hour, like with the other products. I had a clothing store, with flowers and gifts as a test, gave even a bit more profit. it was in midtown
According to the steam discussion, one of the devs or some higher up says that you can indeed make a Walmart type store with everything. I haven't tried it myself as I am just at the setting up the HQ in story mode but worth trying. I don't know how it would work with demand and all that-maybe something to do with what you claim your store is? Like if you claim it's a donut shop, then it goes by donut shop popularity?
@@CharliePryor This: I could be mistaken..but the question was about what items stores can or cannot sell and this was the reply from a mod. David Estes Creations Moderator 4 hours ago A fast food place can sell any retail as well, especially all the food items!
I remember that post. What he said is that you will only generate the customer's for the original demand, aka coffee shop etc, however once inside, they may purchase anything that you have on offer.
My understanding is lower sales for off concept items. I sold cigars and wine in my gift shop. Decent income but nothing like a dedicated liquor store. Trouble is, Walmart would be the one right gameplay idea and you'd never make anything else.
You can sell any product in any store. I would sell wine, and cigars in the grocery store, in addition to the food. Hell, you could sell donuts and cupcakes too!
7th epsidoe i couldnt watch u play anymore...... i finally bogut the game. lol i not a fan of the way the char moves. and omg the first few businesses are annoying. especially since moving stuff is a pain. lol. but even with all the personal frustration and admited dislikes of some of the controls. i found myself having fun. and at the end of the day its what we want from a game.
Customer capacity seems to give a max of what many sales can be done. Staff salary, merchandise cost and building rent give the base of the outcome. So 40 vs 75 where the building rent is more than double will give less outcome. Then sounds better have 2 stores with 40 and roughly same rent cost (assume pretty similar stats). Unless later there are ways to utilize and improve that 75 store (along loose the ability to get it later). What is actually "Traffic index"? If you have 75 possible customers, but TI is 40 then that restrict how many in the area that might shop?
There's an external factor you aren't considering about having a larger building: Logistics connections. Logistics is an invaluable element of the game as you scale your businesses, and the more buildings you have, the more potential costs associated with more logistics agents, trucks, drivers, and even the need for additional warehouses when the trucks can't do enough of them. In the early game, you're right... but as you scale up, you'll find that any perceived savings had by accepting many small buildings will be eaten up entirely, and probably moreso, with those other elements. Traffic Index represents the foot-traffic to the building, so it's important to select a building with a higher traffic. You'll get more business without additional marketing, basically.
I thought so too…but when I actually bought the game and started playing, I got hooked! There’s something about this game that make you want to comeback !
