9 years before i was even born but I now own a house in Pontiac and learning about stuff like this being in my city makes me sad. Its empty now. Just houses, and businesses struggling to survive. I wish there was something that still brought people here.
GOD, I absolutely LOVED WRESTLING back then!!! I grew up mostly in DFW, Texas, and LOVED the Von Ericks, from Fritz to Kerry to barefooted Kevin, to the Yellow Rose of Texas, David VonErick, especially when they'd do their infamous CLAW!!!! I saw the VonEricks in the first IRON CAGE MATCH in the mid 1980s!!! I think it was with their nemesises, The Freebirds, which were Michael Hayes, BamBam Terry Gordy, and Buddy Roberts, I think!!! They were the villains we all loved to hate!!! There was the Iceman who fought a match where he lost and had to cut his braids off! There was Kabuki who blew a green mist up in the air against his hands! There was Kamala, the Somalian Giant! There was Brian Adias, Bugsy McGraw, Andre The Giant, Nature Boy, Rick Flair, Hulk Hogan, King Kong Bundy, the Million Dollar Man and Sunshine, Gary Hart, and so many more that I can't remember!!! WWW at the Will Roger's Colliseum was AWESOME!!! David VonErick died way too young, wrestling overseas in Japan or China one, due to a freakish illness (or at least that's what they told us), and it broke EVERYONE'S heart!!! Wow!!! That was literally 40 years ago!!!
Also in 1987 a new rap group that would shake the music world and bum rush hip-hop into a whole new level, that new rap group is none other than P.E. Public Enemy!
One thing i notice here is the crowd not having any merch on like t shirts and stuff like we have today i see a few with foam hogan fingers and a couple headbands but thats it just imagine if they had merch stands set up here vince would have made a ton of money off this event i wonder why they didnt?
@@roaming.spectre. I was there. I travelled from England with my grandparents to watch it, I was 8 years old and I was in the 7th row opposite the isle. It was the greatest thing I've ever attended. I was just recently at AEW All In in Wembley stadium and that was the closest size crowd I've seen for a wrestling show.
@@roaming.spectre. I was at SummerSlam 92 as well but it was the first big WWF show without Hulk Hogan and it didnt feel as big. Plus, the old Wembley Stadium was a wreck.
They filled dallas cowboys stadium twice in two nights, Vegas twice in two nights and about to fill Lincoln field twice in two nights, can't be that bad can they
@@roaming.spectre. WWE is crap, it was taken off the air in many nations. It does not have the same level of compelling storyline as it did in the attitude era.
To say Wrestlemania 3 was huge at the time is an understatement. I miss when they had a main event that could draw people like this.
WrestleMania 3 is my favorite
Wrestlemania 3 was the 80s.
The greatest Wrestlemania ever. It was enjoyable to have that Wrestlemania at the Silverdome in 1987.
Thanks for the memories. So awesome! Loved the match between Savage-Steamboat. Best Wrestlemania ever. 93,000 fans!
Wrestlemania 3 is my all time favorite piece of film
Fans saw Ricky steamboat vs Macho man, and hulk hogan vs Andre the giant. The most important matches in the history of Wrestlemania.
Absolutely.
My favorite WrestleMania... the night all the stars aligned to perfection!
I was there! Epic!!
You are lucky to witness it.
What was it like?
To the gentleman at the end, wrestling will never be forgotten. Wrestling rules!
my dad took me to nassau coliseum to watch this on closed circuit its top 5 days of my childhood
I was there, 7 years old
37 years later, Wrestlemania has not been forgotten

They say 93000 was exaggerated, more like 80000 , but that crowd looked huge
80,000 paid, over 90,000 in the building.
@@ultimatemagic2125 also they used whole stadium instead of a stage taking up a quarter of the stadium space
