Is it me alone? I finished each episode teary eye. So deeply moving. At least for me that I love RTP and the amazing people that shape these experiences. Each person here has a story to share , as Jeff so well highlighted, bringing all of us so much closer, especially in these very difficult times. ❤️
Beautiful series about community and humanity, Jeff. Very moving but not cheesy. Thank you for your hard work (running :-P) and sensitivity. And the amazing shots, of course.
What an amazing group of people; a real community. I appreciate that you spoke to so many of them. I loved hearing from the volunteer. Nothing like volunteering at an ultra. I've been researching this series of races after watching these videos. I'm looking forward to running and volunteering at one in the future.
Best running 🏃🏻♂️ documentary I have watch. Hat off to all the people who ran and all the support people. Jeff you done so well. The camera 🎥 work was brilliant 🤩. Love your documentaries. Have been following you for a while. All the different accents. You done good brother. Keep up the fantastic work Jeff. 👍🤩🏃🏻♂️🎥.
Jeff I'm a big fan of yours. Namibia was an amazing production! Congrats for everything. The prep, the race, the results, the photography, the interviews and the direction of the film which was excellent. Some scenes stuck deep in my mind. Congrats again and thanks for doing what you like!
Jeff- truly a fantastic series, and so well produced/photographed. The way you documented every aspect of the trip and race, it was like I was on a journey. I can't wait to see the next adventure race you do
What is so crazy about this to me is, the amount of mental energy it would take to run a stage race like this would be off the charts (lets not even get into the physical). From the travel, to the "did I pack enough" to calories, to pacing, the list goes on forever. THEN....add the fact Jeff films everything. He gets back to camp after a day(s) or running and then has the mental energy to film interviews and such. Words can't describe how hard that would be but we are all the benefactors. I'm sort of convinced this channel and these videos are kind of the best kept secret on the internet. Once the right person sees these....I don't know. These videos are just way too good.
The time-lapse, the drone shots, the story telling and of course the people in runner community are just amazing! Thanks for such a wonderful series Jeff. Looking forward to a lot more seasons of episodes like this.
Jeff So inspiring and motivating I just can't say in words how much i enjoyed this ultra experience and you filming is beyond Outstanding ! This community it truly awesome Thank you so much Victor
Each episode is so beautifully made, the stories of all the racers are so touching and inspiring. Keep up the good work and all the power to you to keep the positivity flowing 🙂
This episode was the most emotional for me. Just watching everyone's reaction and their hopes, inspiration in life was something else altogether. I got very teary eyed. I hope everyone there go very well in life! Stay blessed and happy!
you do the best trail documentaries I have ever watched, very inspiring and emotional and professional. thanks for these very good jobs and greetings from Turkey
Wonderful Wonderful again Jeff. Incredible videos ……. Everyone of them. Big Congratulations on your finish 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️. I bet you’d be good in an ECO Challenge 🙂👍
Loved every video of this but the last one is the more meaninful. Such a beautiful event with full of beautiful people of all different backgrounds. I love this!!👍👍
Such a beautiful documentary series. Some amazing and inspiring interviews, and a wonderful mix of cultures. Thank you for producing Jeff🙏🏻. Another top series. 👍🏻
Man, oh man, Jeff. What a moving conclusion to an amazing series. I was (like many viewers, it seems) in tears by the end. Didn’t want it to end. And I was just *watching*! I can’t imagine the feeling of having completed the race amongst such a great group of people, in such a glorious setting. Thanks so much for sharing. Your storytelling and filmmaking are world-class, and your accomplishments as an athlete are inspirational.
Jeff I need to thank you for bringing such great content to us. This video series has been amazing. You not only covered the race really well, but the interviews with the runners were insanely touching and inspiring. Seeing those people and hearing these stories just shows that racing can make a huge difference in one's life, and only reinforces the notion that I did the best choice over 2 years ago after starting to go just for small walks, and now I'm a completely different person because of that. Thank you so much for these videos! You're an amazing running and youtuber! Cheers!
What a great sporting achievement Jeff congratulations. But I'm most impressed with the filming and documentation of this whole adventure. 1 The sharpness to make the right video shots while running. 2 At times when you need to rest as much as possible, taking the time to document participants and organization and 3 processing all that video material afterwards (it must have been days of work) into an extremely fascinating and compelling series of videos is in my opinion the best achievement I have ever seen.
Thanks Jeff for the series, you had ran an awesome race, you can be easily on the podium if you aren't filming it for us to watch. You are no.1 like the rest of everyone. Most importantly you had captured the human spirit, fighting spirit, positive energy.
I usually "poop" out on these long videos, but having each stage be this different kept me clicking for the next one! I grew up in the desert and have a soft spot for them. Fabulous photography which is the same reason I followed professional cycling for so long -- but the doping and politics chased me away. I'm truly enjoying ultra running because it is more personal and way-way-way more diverse. Thank you.
Fantastic series! I love how you made the film be about more than just your race and included others' stories as well. I signed up for the Beaver Flats 5k this fall thanks to you!
Thank you Jeff. This was amazing. Truly inspiring, showing that trail running is so much more than just racing. And thank you for telling so many beautiful stories of resilience.
Jeff, congratulations on a tremendous race. You are an incredible athlete. Thank you for doing an amazing job on documenting the race and more importantly the inspiring humanity of people. That gives me hope. Thank you too for sharing the wonderful country of Namibia. Always wanted to visit. Great job. Keep up the great work. Thanks!
Jeff what an amazing series. Well done on your race, your videos and mostly for introducing us to a wide range of people - racers with stirring stories, volunteers and volunteers who turned racers. Thank you for showcasing one of the most stunning places imaginable. Namibia is very close to my heart. All the best for your future endeavors. I hope also you find your way to NZ.
I was hoping and expecting you to let us hear from the volunteers, who are so important for these races! That was a very emotional ending, well done! As I said, I really want to sign up for a similar race now (maybe somewhat less extreme to begin with^^)
Excellent production. I'm from across the border in SA but lived in Namibia for a few years, crisscrossing the country on foot, MTB, 4x4 and by air. I miss it terribly and this series was really immersive and made more moving by the great interviews. Thank you.
@@JeffPelletier although not an ultra, you'll enjoy the Otter Trail race. It's a famous hike booked up a year in advance, unless you enter the Otter Trail run. There are several other very scenic mountainous ultras in SA too. Another ultra event that might interest you is the Fish River Canyon run. 2nd biggest canyon in the world and an iconic multi-day hike. The run thru the FRC will make for an epic video production. The video will be a first. A good excuse to bring your other half back to Namibia and do it together.

Incredible film Jeff! 👍 Not only you've shown the insight of the adventure race, perhaps more importantly you've mastered the humanity aspect.😊 Loved it very much and thanks for your hard work/inspiration! 🙏😊 Your fan from Corea/Italy, pk
Thank you for the series, beautifully filmed!! And I love the way each episode was a race report but also dug deeper into the runners and their motivations!!
What a fabulous and inspiring set of videos about the race. This is one of the most enjoyable race/running videos I have watched, thoroughly enjoyed and felt engrossed in it. Well done, and congratulations.
what an amazing series of videos of this epic journey you had. Seriously great footage and commentary. Thoroughly enjoyed all of them! Particular highlight that made me smile (among so many!) is Episode 7 at 3:50. The drone footage of you runners from above is like looking at runners from the side. Fabulous :)
Congratulations to all the participants and finishers. And my LOVE to all the podium holders. 🙏❤ Really enjoyed n learned from the lovely video. Love the background music. Enjoy n keep running. Don't STOP till you get enough. With Love from SAM Guwahati Assam INDIA 🙏❤🏃♂️
Thank you for the videos Jeff. You did an amazing job!!! Absolutely love love love all the music you used as well. Thank you for showing our beautiful Motherland Namibia 🇳🇦♥️ to the world. And well done to all the runners. This was truly inspiring . 💪🏽💪🏽 PS: I signed up as a volunteer for 2022 after I had to cancel the previous events due to COVID. Very excited!
I've been loving this series and think you have done such a wonderful job Jeff. I really would have liked to hear a little more from the women who were racing. Something to keep in mind for future series, it did feel a little unbalanced. Not to detract from your excellent videography, editing, or storytelling, at all. This is definitely one of the best racing series I have watched.
Thanks for that feedback. The challenge with this race was the field was quite spread out beyond 4th place, so I really didn’t have much footage of the women’s field. I’m going to work on that for the next series though.
Fantastic! Don't think I have the stamina to run one yet, maybe one day, but I actually signed up as a volunteer after seeing this Ep! Thanks Jeff for an outstanding 8 episodes!
Thoroughly enjoyed this series, Jeff!! Very nice work. Impressive that you did the race while filming too. Glad your camera gear was not more than a GoPro.
Absolutely loved this series. Watched it myself, then watched it again with my kids and husband. Inspiring and captivating stories! My kids were curious though…did the medal say 2020 because they needed to use the ones they had made before COvid? And my husband wants to know what beer you were enjoying at the end!?
That’s exactly it, reusing the previous years medals (which is fine by me). I can’t remember what kind of beer, but it was probably an IPA and probably a hazy one 🍻
I loved these 8 episodes. I just would like to know roughly how fast you were running, in average. I would also want to know if you were supposed to have your own maps or if all the trails were flagged. Many thanks and good job to all of you !
Jeff, I love this series, the adventure it entails. I also love the African music you're using in the video. Do you have a sound track available? Or, can you let me know where/how you got the African music? Is it music specifically from Namibia, or is the music from different parts of Africa? Thanks for your input....
