- This machine was given to me because it would not heat the kettle. The motor was also very noisy. I was able find the cause of the problem for the kettle to a fusible link underneath the kettle. The motor was also noisy because the top cover was on too tight. Loosing the screws helped take the noise away. Works great now.
I thought I was going to have to replace the $90 kettle pot but thanks to this video I was able to fix itfor about $1. Thank you very much.. :)

Thank you for your tutorial. I had the exact same issue with my Roosevelt popcorn machine. I ordered replacement fuses from Amazon. Once they came in, I installed the new fuse and the basket worked perfectly. Thanks again. Your video saved me from having to buy a new basket.

My kettle just stopped heating today. Not sure of the brand but the model is Model EPM -400. Probably made for Walmart /Sam's Club / Costco, but looks just like a Great Northern machine. They are making them a little different these days and getting a replacement kettle with the same magnetic connection (same as yours) does not seem likely. I will be taking the kettle apart later in the week to if I have the same issue. Thanks for the video and will update my comment when I have found out. UPDATE: Unfortunately while I have continuity across the fuse, there is no continuity in the heating element built into the pot.
I have found generic kettles, but if the wires are still good, cheaper to replace the thermal fuse after verification.

Where did you find the fuse link to order from?
eBay and Amazon both have them, eBay seems to have more listings. These were ordered from Amazon. eBay maybe cheaper, but takes longer to arrive if shipped from overseas and not through a domestic seller.

Did you go through all the wiring for make sure they were good. You must have a short somewhere.

Depends on where you order it from, but are very cheap. Most online you have to buy several for a few dollars plus shipping.
