Lev P hey bud! It really comes down to personal preference. I started with the blakes early in my career, but now I have a dedicated "closed" system with a pulley, so I can easily tend the slack with one hand. I could never go back. Here is some interesting reading! Stay safe! www.treeservicesmagazine.com/print-6706.aspx
Just getting into knots over past couple of months. Was trying to tie my first Taut Line Hitch last night but I wasn't getting the knot to tighten up really well on a "guy line". So I put an additional wrap after crossing/creating the "bar" and low and behold it looked like a Prusik but knot created in traditional way. What are differences between Taut Line Hitch vs "Prusik Hitch"?? Don't think I created a novel knot. Thx!!
Used these techniques for the first time, I had a hard time making the hitch slip so I used one less loop and it worked fine. Great Video!
Great!! That's what I wanted to see. A Prusik knot tied with a single ended piece of rope rather than a loop as most instructors show. Thank you!
Exactly how I was trained. These videos are fantastic, clear and concise.
Hi Blue,
Do you know advantages disadvantages of Prusik Hitch vs. blake’s hitch?
Thanks

Keep the vids coming. If u guys can can make some vids on rigging. Nice vids
The guides I've seen say that these versions are insufficient, that you need at least 3 girth-hitch passes through the prusik loop. Always test.
what's to stop the knot from rolling without the stopper? since both ends are fastened to the harness...
Anybody can say advantages disadvantages Prusik Hitch vs. blake’s hitch?
Thanks
blakes work better for hitches cause it lowers you easier . prusiks better for lanyards cause they won't move either way and stays neat the whole time
+albusai Thank you
um why are you even talking a ABOUT mt when i was 4 on tiffany channel
Who's Tiffany??..
It's not a hitch, though, it's a knot.
