to me this is what a proper bentley is. because the company has been owned by rolls royce for so long bentley grew to become the silent sports car. they were these big saloon cars with shit tons of power for one of the ultimate gt experiences, i don't believe there is an ultimate on the many different experiences there just different. the people that buy these cars are the sort who wouldn't buy a super car but some sort of gt car. i know i would, but I'm not sure if i would have this gt over say an alfa romeo disco volante or a ferrari f12. but thats just me.
I really love that your high production standards and camerawork show the high level of craftsmanship of these cars. As a speaker builder, it gives me a look as to what is possible with wood, metal and leather. My next project - I'm upping my game for sure. Thanks' again, well done!

To be able to sit in a car like this even one time, never mind being able to order one, choosing the specification owning and then driving it everyday. Dayumm that's the dream for all petrol heads. I too am in the market for a Mulsanne, although I don't seek acquiescence from my wife. They are now a steal at £50k for a 2011/2012 model and as they are now no longer produced I foresee a strong market for them. I have been lucky enough to own two Arnage which I felt were automotive works of art, but the Mulsanne is something else.
I like how detailed you guys are, but in my humble opinion, I think you put the emphasize to much on the speed-factor of the Mulsanne; which is totally irrelevant. The Mulsanne, even though it being a Speed, isn't made to drive around in fast at all. It's made for cruising at a maximum of about 90 mp/h or so. The Speed label merely is put there so that a rich Chinese guy or Arab can say ''mine's faster than yours''.
Bentley on the roads really do have a pressence In my country when we see the Mulsanne on the road together with the very common Audi A6/A7 BMW 7 and S Class it just got this musculane pressence it's like the driver is telling the rest I dare to be different.
Another excellent video from XCARFilms and Drew. One thing I'd spec up on my Mulsanne would be better looking wheels than those de rigeur passe 5 spokers. 5 spoke wheels have been done to death, and Bentley has put some very hot looking mags on other cars/models. Also I'm not sure why the Mulsanne has that bum-up attitude and too much air between the rear tyre and wheel arch. As noted, the lines have been blurred between driven/drive for both marques.
I love the way this car follows on the tradition set by the big Bentley's like the Turbo R. But there are a number of things that would really annoy me every single time I opened the door - chiefly the very cheap feeling plastic door handles. Absolutely outrageous on this car. They should have used the original handles last seen on Arnage (which also protect the paintwork when you open them).
A limited two door version of the Mulsanne would make more sense since they brought the engine back or, up to the Brooklands` specs. As a luxury limouzine, the standard M seems more than enough.
I disagree with this guy. Sadly I can not afford this car, I drive a Jaguar XJR. I like big cars with big engines and a lot of power. If I had 300K I would buy this over the Continental GT because its fast and has presence. I just like the feeling of driving a big long fast car over a small nimble one.

Is this guy seriously saying the ZF is as good as a PDK? I mean the ZF is a fantastic gear box, but there's a big gap between a PDK and the ZF in terms of performance. He got a little too excited there, haha.
I don't know why but I would much rather have the Rolls Royce, I've just always loved Rolls Royce's style, they are pure intoxicating exquisite luxury! :D
Not entirely true what you are saying here as WO Bentley, of original Bentley marque was building the 8 litre grand tourer to compete with the RR Phantom 11 Continental. They were also making smaller sportier vehicles, that is true. But, I suppose you could say that the Mulsanne is the modern day 8 litre and the continental the 4.5 litre of original Bentley pre-war years. RR took over Bentley a) because they (Bentley) were bankrupt and b) because they saw the 8 litre as a real threat.
Again, i love how in depth you guys go in your reviews. Mixing facts and feelings with a bit of history and an emotional attachment to the brand (wichever it may be!, because... cars :)
Bentley is back. Now for the two door hard top and drop tops of this please. We need a replacement for the Brooklands coupe and Azure drop top.
