Well Covid in Australia has taken a back seat right now and everyone in this country wants to travel.
But chasing a swell down to Shipstern's Bluff Tasmania on Easter Friday wasn't something i was planning on but it had to happen.
Easter Saturday was the day and it didn't disappoint.
8 to 12 foot Shippies with the swell coming from the perfect direction made it a day for some amazing paddle action.
At the start jet-skis waited out the back for that crazy tow bomb but on the inside the best in the business both in standup & bodyboard were hucking themselves over the edge for some epic paddle rides.
Join me on a very entertaining day were almost everything happened including me ending up falling off the ski and into the drink.

Bored on this rainy South Florida morning 🌄 This is a real Shipstern Bluff treat for me. I truly can't decide which current Shipstern video is the best. Yours or Nate Florence.
I've always had a fascination with Shipstern Bluff. Ever since I was I read an article about it in Surfer mag in the high school library while cutting class in the late seventies. The mysterious notorious "wave within a wave" on the edge of the world 🌎. The current videos really shows the break as it is.

Massively impressed by those over-the-ledge vertical drops, and the abilities of those prone riders to regain their edges after that step. And with the repetitiveness, you really see the wave knowledge on display here. Great video.

The accolades (for the filming and the riders) are well deserved Tim. I think you’ve done an outstanding job of giving a very well rounded view of this amazing place and those who paddle and ride its waters. The skill of the riders, the texture of the water, variety of view angles, people sharing stories while bobbing about waiting for the next set, the boats full of onlookers; it’s all woven together to convey as much of a feel for the place as I can imagine without being there. Great to be able to share in that day and the amazing rides that unfolded. Keep up the outstanding storytelling.

Best surf footage of this incredible wave, great editing and music, love the distance shots of the wave coming at you in normal time (like the shots at 6:46) Great channel. Need to get home to MR asap.

I grew up boogie boarding in Santa Cruz where we were always at war with the local surfers. It was great to see the surfers and boogie borders all getting along. Thanks guys, this is how it always should be.

I sat there watching in 1992 and watched quite large shark more down towards the cape.there were 3 seals sitting on the rocks close by looking pretty nervous
