Amazing episode!! Being born in Porto myself, I fell proud to hear you talking so highly of the city and happy that you had a good time and a one of a life time experience tasting that amazing 1863 Port. Cheers 🍷
Very cool. I totally understood you here. I’ve had opportunities to try some vintage Bordeaux’s. Even though some of those wines were on the decline I still cherished the experience and appreciated the fact that the wine was still able to be drunk with enough structure left. Wine is amazing!
I had a 1977 porto a couple week ago. all that was really left was the brandy character. I had the same port around 14 years ago and it was much much better. sometimes things just get too old, and thats what makes it foolish to invest in long long term wines
Yeah, it's definitely a gamble. I think a lot of people would say that's the fun of it, but its an expensive hobby! Need to have that perfect combo of year, producer, and luck to have good wine thats this old!
The original episode was fantastic but that moment was truly special. It definitely needled a follow-up to do it justice.
Thank you! I agree, there was a lot to say about this moment, glad you enjoyed!

Such a special opportunity, I don't take it for granted!
Great update and episode - reminded our trip to Porto in 2013. Ready to go back again!
Nice! You went before all the "cool kids" found out about it!

Agreed, its a piece of history!
Such an amazing experience! It’s because of wines like this that I’m fascinated with wine and I keep coming back to learn as much as I can.
It was a magical experience!
Channel is growing quick 👍🏻 you will be at 50k subs in no time and well deserved this is better than TV
Thank you! It is, I hope you're right!
Man, I still haven't had a birth year wine, and you're drinking wine from 1863! Awesome experience. thanks for sharing
It was super lucky! Also, my birth year was a poor vintage in most places, so this makes up for it haha
Incredible! What a great experience to be able to share and taste a once in a lifetime wine! Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank YOU for watching!
You really have an incredible show. Big props!
Thanks Jeremy!
Vince, thank you! I love your channel, and so appreciate the hard work you put into producing these videos.
Thank you, I'm so glad you're enjoying! Much more to come, 2023 will be a busy year for sure!
Nothing quite like opening port or Madeira with tenzias! I love that at Christmas
Wow, thanks for the advice!
Great! Keep up the good work!
Thank you, we will!
Amazing!! Congrats!
Love the episodes!
Thanks Ludovic!
I watched this again and got chills! How generous of Ferreira to share this. Can you explain what the Pharmacy aroma meant?
Yes! The pharmacy description smells like iodine, almost a salty-metallic smell.
@@visforvino Oh interesting, thank you!
WOW! What an incredible and unforgettable experience.... you truly had a once in a lifetime sip!!! Cheers!
Agreed...once in a lifetime!
A once-in-a-life experience, one would say, granted to just a select few.
You kind of became a honorary Portuguese citizen with that one!
100%. I don't take it for granted!
Thanks!
Thanks DB!

When are you showcasing Texas wines are Vineyards?
Oh man, I hope soon! Hoping for this upcoming or next season; it’s my priority for the next domestic episode 👍👍
Amazing! ❤
That’s amazing!
Just wow
How about Verdejo?
Can someone tell me why the cork said 2008 ? It’s an honest question.
Thank you.
Nevermind I got the answer at 8:30
What a privilege! That is no longer about the wine. It's history itself!
100%!
wow
The cork did not look like an 1863 version. Was it re-corked at some point?
Absolutely. I chat a bit about this later in the video, as well as in the full episode. They recork every 20-30 years to protect the wine 👍
Science and technology cannot produce intuition and a feel for greatness. If it lacks soul it lacks true taste.
100% agree!!
how didnt you cry bro?
haha good question
@@visforvino now I just finally watched your Lebanon episode. Did you cry along with your brother? LOL that was amazing
