- We spent the weekend at a beautiful Airbnb in Astor Florida ! We did a 24 hour crab trap soak and had a tasty meal. We went to Silver Glen and explored Lake George. Love spending the weekend with good friends and family!

Few things can be better than time with family outdoors enjoying nature kids will never forget these times.
Absolutely
Hi Tug Trash, family and friends!
I truly appreciate the beautiful tradition of blessing the food and giving thanks to God every time you sit down for a family-style dinner. It adds a special touch to your gatherings and reminds us to be grateful for the food and company we have.
Thank you for keeping this tradition alive!
Our pleasure! Thank you
For it is the old boys ways of having the gift of the Chesapeake bay and is the truth of life of how it should bee. And no madder what you cook your Crabs, it always best for you and me. Love you all the old man and the sea.
I need to come up and eat some crabs with you someday!
Thank you for praying !
Yes, you steam crabs, no boiling. Agreed
It's so great to see family together like you all do giant Florida hugs to you all.
Thanks so much
Every part of that video made me jealous. You boys did work and included the families. I love it
Thanks bud
You did good steaming those crabs and don't let anyone tell you any different . You can use beer instead of vinegar ro steam crabs and shrimp , and we used to dip our crabmeat in malt vinegar and Old Bay . You gotta try that at least once . along with malt vinegar on french fries
I like malt vinegar on fries!
Thats awesome. I love seeing the places you don't really know of or get to see because it's not a tourist trap. Thanks for sharing.
You bet!
Amazed that crabs are that far in the waterway! Love the show!
Crazy
Thanks, Ian and Crystal. Awesome video guys.👍👍👍
Our pleasure!
Good times! Thanks for bringing us along.
Our pleasure!
My parents bought a vacation home there 6 years ago and it’s by far my favorite place to be. So relaxing and the forest being there makes it breathtaking
That is awesome!
Awesome b-roll and videography. Family time and making memories
Thanks so much!
Was just here the past week. Got a good buddy that stays up the road in Deleon Springs. We go to the Silver Glen every year when we come down for vacation.
Nice!
Silver Glenn is one of my favorite locations whether it's from the hwy or cruising up the St Johns from the white hair bridge boat launch. Awesome memories there for sure.
Very cool! Us too
Absolutely 💯 Beautiful. Continued Blessings to you and your families. Thank you so very much again.
Same to you!
Man thats my old stomping grounds ……. Astor , backwater inn , JCs lobster pot and all the great summer boat parties at Silver Glenn…. Thanks Tug you just reminded me that I work too much and need some R & R on the river 🤣!!!!
🤣🙌🏽
Astor truly is a hidden gem. Have lived here for over 30 years and love it. Glad you got to experience our little town and the glen.
Couldn't agree more!
Another great video Ian, looked like a wonderful time with family and friends. And im glad to see your steaming those crabs and not boiling them. God bless and thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video Ian, Krystal & B! What an awesome vacation you guys got to spend together with friends & family.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Pretty neat that y'all took an amazing adventure with the Wishard Wire Family. Those crabs look so delicious!!
Thanks so much
Everything looks great! CRABBING is on...
Can't wait to come down! Great video Ian & Krystal
Yes sir!
Yea Buddy. Silver Glen is awesome! Only a couple miles north on Lake George is the entrance of the 4 mile long Salt Spring run. Take a run up there and the water turns crystal clear from the Salt spring. It's a little bigger and the mullet fishing is real good. The swim beach is really nice too.
I shot a whole video there last year! Check it out
Beautiful old Florida. Stitches through callouses are very difficult to endure. Great food with great friends, thank you Lord. Dude! Cover your head with something man, you’re cooking your dome. Thanks
Yes they are!
LITERALLY FREAKING AWESOME AND AMAZING BROTHER!!! Every time you say it doesn't get any better than this, I couldn't have agreed with you more! I was telling my wife as we were watching your video, I can't quite fully understand it, but for some reason I would rather catch crab than take them apart and eat them. Well, scratch that, I don't mind eating in them, I just hate taking them apart! Anyway, I appreciate you getting me psyched up, and my family. We moved down to Florida back in 2017, and we just love this kind of stuff! I've been on disability for the last 4 years, and I am just dying to get out there and do something badly! A couple summers I tried to bass fish a few times, with my Walker, I would place a couple fishing rods and tackle box on top of it and push them around to the various retention ponds in my development. There's just one problem I have that, we want to go out and explore, and we see you guys doing it. We don't have a boat. Can you still have a good time going to some of these Springs and not own one? I'm trying to save up for a kayak myself, but, I just turned 56 last year. My dream in life is to own a boat. If I don't get what I consider to be fun for the whole family, I'm probably just going to result and getting a rowboat and an outboard motor and just going to town that way. I know this is getting long, so I'll try to wrap it up, and just tell you thank you again, to you, Crystal, Bianca, Harold, etc etc, for a great video! Fully entertained, and you're teaching me a lot! Appreciate you brother! God bless!
Yes this and many spring you can access from land!
We have grandkids that live 30 minutes from there. We take a boat out on the St. Johns river now and then.
Cool!
Nice video and thanks for sharing . Good Crabbing and spending quality time with your loved ones. Food looks delicious and the best thing is not forgetting to thank God for everything. God Bless you all.
Thank you
Thanks for bringing us along, this was truly an Amazing adventure to see....God Bless
Glad you enjoyed it
That was awesome! You and Crystal made a great team!
Thanks buddy! We all need to go fishing some day
@@TugTrashOutdoors For sure!
That's just good river living there!!!! I try to bait my traps every weekend! I make crabbie patties. So alot of picking! Awesome video!!!
Good stuff
I’ve spent a few weekends floating on our boat at the Glen. It’s beautiful
AWESOME VIDEO!!!!! Makes my Mouth water!!!!
You and me both!
Born and raised right by the old swing bridge. Dad had a fish camp there "Ronalds Fish Camp" he was the first person to crab in the rover ther back in the 50's what a wonderful place to grow up lots of great memories boy could i tell some stories comercial fishing, dog hunting the local forest what a life
Man I can only imagine what it must have been like back then
Great job! Food looks Delicious!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for coming
In the mid 70's I used to drive back and forth from Gainesville and Orlando and there is a residential road on the west side of Lake George. Lot's of crabbers sold from their houses. They considered a crab that was 8" to 12" point to point to be mediums. AND they were only a buck apiece. Those were the days.
Wow!
Awesome video! Pray your hand heals with no problems!
Thank you so much!
IMO the places nobody knows exist are some of the best places!
Yes sir
I love your guys videos they are so down to earth an you show you can enjoy life without going all out fancy. Keep it up your doing great things
Yep we are just regular people!
@@TugTrashOutdoors if you ever make it to Ohio give me a holler
How this channel isn't at a million + idk. One of the best outdoors channels on youtube.. I may be a little biased as he's local to me but regardless he deserves a ton more subs.
🙌🏽 thank you!
Excellent Video! Thanks for sharing the trip with us. I'm plus one on steaming those crabs. Best way to cook them Bro!!
You got that right!
Enjoyed watching you, your family, and your friend's family have a great time. Seems like a great place to spend a few days. Looking forward to more videos. God bless.
Thanks so much
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Stan
Love Astor that is my home town great times
Awesome
That spring is beautiful.
Yes sir
if you want a steaming pot for just the stove im sure your local asian supermarket sells em, i got mine from a asian store, its thin and heats up super quick and has 3 tray layers. vinegar is the trick! i use apple cider and beer full bottles, the acid fumes in the vinegar makes the crab shells turn into chips making it super easy to crack with just your hands, the beer makes the PH more acidic i believe too which helps with the process
Great idea! Easy to clean?
U living the good life Ian! 👏👏 Keep up the great videos
Thanks! Will do!
Astor is a dangerous place🤣. Glad you guys enjoyed your visit
🤣
Excellent video! I bought 5 traps from Harold last year after watching one of your video's. The quality is impeccable. Thanks for the suggestion.
Glad you like them!
Awesome video. I've never seen this beautiful part of Florida and it looks like a great place to live

Our pleasure! Glad ya enjoyed bud
You're in our neck of the woods now. Little farther north is Salt Springs Run. Less boats and lots of crabs. Little farther and you have the Ocklawaha....now that's Old Florida...
We love salt springs !!
I know the river north of the lake pretty well
I love Astor! And I have always wanted to fish there and Lake George.
I’ll be back in the spring for some specks
You have the best editing "team" ever!
Right ?! Amazing editing… 🎉
It’s like your trap building team! 🤣
Thanks for the fun video!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Funny to see this on UA-cam. Been going there for years and have a house there. Was just there for the 4th and crap traps were everywhere. Luckily its protected land and developers can’t ruin it.
Yes sir
St. Johns River is full of Bull Sharks ❤❤❤
Yep
Full of shrimp too!
Looks awesome! ❤
Thanks! 😄
Thank you for bringing the old memories back to me man you are awesome
Awesome video!!!!! It looks like you all have a great time together!

Yes sir
Awesome video as always Ian, Krabby Krystal did a great job as deck hand
Good to see Harold and family on the video too
Maybe you should rename it wish-sharp wire traps
I actually got my hand on a trap he didn’t build! Maybe punishment? Lol
That is the best steaming pot I’ve seen
Have mercy, that meal looked sooo good!!! Great video Tug!
Thank you
Nothin like a perfectly cooked steak and blue crabs !
Right!
WOW what a video. I love that St Johns River. I have got to go down there and fish. Thank you for always providing great videos. Be sure and take care of that hand, Give the Ladies my love. God Bless

Thanks, will do!
Tug you know your going to pay for that deck hand lol 😂😂😂
For sure lol
Aloha. He already is, seems she’s worth it.
As a Marylander I approve the use of old bay & steaming blue crabs ALWAYs lol! The only difference for me & my family…we eating the mustard every time 🤣 🦀 💪🏾
Awesome
🤙🏽
Thank you for great videos & delicious crabs.
Glad you like them!
I have a vacant lot at the end of a canal off St. John’s river…. If you’re interested, I’ll send coordinates, putting it up for sale cheap…. Put a mobile on it and visit whenever you want to get away-we live in NY AND JUST didn’t work out for us unfortunately
Shoot me an email tugtrashoutdoors@hotmail.com
And where you're at the crabbing should be excellent I've got crabs in freshwater and they are great
For years I have put crab traps out (on and off)up in the panhandle. They always get stolen. I even put them off bridges without any rope or buoys but people still drag the grappling around to find them.
I haven't put another one out in years.
That’s annoying for sure
Beautiful place!
It really is!
Damn what i wouldn't give to come spend a week just having fun with you guys! Keep up the videos guys
Thanks!
Sunday evenings are usually my sit and wait for videos to drop day. Not today though, archery season is right around the corner. So time to scout and sweat ya boys off.
Practice practice
Great video and good people, I love it
The best
OMG! My favorite UA-camrs in my favorite small town!! It was weird seeing you in all the spots I frequent. Almost caught a glimpse of my pontoon hanging in the lift on the river. 😂
Dang wish we could have ran into ya
@@TugTrashOutdoors I know! I actually live in Indiana but have a place in Astor and get down there whenever I can. Next trip is in August!
You would have been all over that rope swing if it wasn’t for that hand huh 😂
Exactly haha
That rope looked a lil sketch
Thank you for taking us along on your vacation enjoyed it very much do you have a wonderful family keep looking for those hidden spots and we'll keep watching
I Love Astor!! I'm In Ocala!!👍🌴🦀🌅🥰
I love your content brother, hope to see you at the glen some day!
I hope so too!
I used to fish lake George all the way to cabbage patch on 520 mosquito lagoon
That place is really nice ❤
Nicely filmed and put together, pretty place and is giving me some ideas, maybe some clear fresh water in my future if I have a bit of luck.
Pretty cool Ian, thanks for sharing the trip. Props to the crew, and thanks for the ProTips. Keep bringin’em.
Check it out !
Man! Love Astor! We vacation at South Moon Fish Camp🎣🇺🇸
That place looked awesome we stopped for gas
I think boiling is better if you’re gonna try to add spces. Putting spices in with steaming is kind of an uphill battle!
I lived in Ocala Fla when I was a teen ager. We would go to st johns river to fish and craning. Swim in silver Glen everyday.
Very cool
Good times!
Indeed!
A very cool island here in Southwest Florida is mound key if you’re ever in the area. It’s the highest Caloosa mound in the area And used to be their headquarters of some sort. Just bring bug spray
Very cool!
Great people great video thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
That was fun! Thx bro and kudos on the production quality and sound track 👍😳
Much appreciated!
What a beautiful spot man. 🙌
It really is!
Man, this popped up on my feed and the nostalgia i got from it! Grew up going to the glen out of salt run every other weekend growing up. Been about 15-16years since! Good stuff! You can see smaller stingrays in the lake time to time near the shallows. And obvious bull sharks.
That's awesome!
