Hey Ryan question. So what if a producer is asking me if I’m a indie artist or a signed artist before he sells me the beat? I offered him $400 for an exclusive and he’s being difficult. His leases were pretty low but he’s basically trying to charge me jcole prices for the beat.
I was going to purchase an “unlimited license” beat and I didn’t because even though I didn’t see an expiration date I did see that I was not granted the ability to copyright the song because the producer still wants the ability to sell that same beat over and over and It can get pretty nasty because what if another artist tries to come after me saying I stole their song but the beat was resold multiple times in which case the producer would have to get involved. I love the beat but don’t want the potential hassles. Thank you for explaining the differences because so many artists buy these beats and agree to these terms.
yes if you get leases from me, mine last forever. The Mp3 Lease, Wav Lease, and Trackout Lease are lifelong leases up to 500,000 monetized streams. The Unlimited Lease is very similar to the exclusive license, it lasts forever and allows unlimited monetized streams. This also includes all files such as Mp3, Wav, and Stems

Depends on the agreement you have with the producer. Mine is standard 50% publishing only
So to get past copyright I need exclusive? Or will unlimited give me that?
Exclusive will give you that. All my other licenses including unlimited license is non-exclusive.
