    For ice and snow effect try applying superglue to a base and then dipping it water until it sets. Magic.

    Absolutely fantastic! I'm half tempted to just buy some bases and base them. I can't get enough basing in my life.
    This video here makes me wish the bases on the Fallout Miniatures were larger. Perhaps I need to look into Wasteland Warfare

      Yeah this would be GREAT for Fallout! I'm using this style for some of the Kingdom Death bases. It's a lot of work, but I'm like you - I love making cool bases haha :)

    Unrelated to the content - Love the way you say "Bark"

      Haha - yeah, people where I live really draw out "ar" sounds - like car, bar, etc :)

    Hi just seen this and think my Harryhausen Cyclops figure would look fantastic on this sort of base! Large figure so a larger base than yours but some great ideas there my friend. Thanks 😘

      Yeah I really like the effect. Sometimes I'll add little sticks to make "dead trees" as well.

    Really nice base, great job 👍. I do have a question regarding the rocks. I cant recall any mini painting or mini baseing tutorial I've seen here on youtube where real rocks (or sand for that matter) are used that the rocks aren't painted. Rocks being the natural, inorganic things that they are, why do mini painters and modelers always paint them instead of leaving them in their natural looking state when using them? Is it purely an esthetic thing? Do they look out of scale if not painted? Just curious. Thanks and keep up the great work.

      @WatchItPaintIt 3 роки тому

      Hey T P - you absolutely CAN just leave the rocks their natural color, especially if they already match the aesthetic you're going for. I usually paint mine out of habit because I usually end up getting paint on them by accident anyhow.

    When you are done, what is the best way then to attach a mini to the base?

    • @lueyhewis7556
      @lueyhewis7556 4 роки тому +1

      glue the mini to the base before you paint or prime anything :)

    Nice idea for my incoming Easterlings, just a little bit more yellow tho.
    Just one question, what did you use to spray the base after paint it all? I couldn't really understand the name you said. I suppose is a varnish to protect the cracked texture.
    Regards!

    • @HeroesBosses
      @HeroesBosses  5 років тому +1

      I sprayed it with Testors Dullcote - it's a matt varnish. You could use any matt varnish however!

    You wouldn't glue the mini on top of that texture, right? Would it hold? Or do you have to pin it for good measure?

    • @HeroesBosses
      @HeroesBosses  5 років тому +2

      You definitely want to pin it - that or leave it attached and put the texture around it. The texture wouldn't hold a mini with just glue. The only reason I don't have a mini attached was so that it was easier for people to see what I was doing :)

      @@HeroesBosses oh okay. yeah, that's what I thought but I was starting to get confused seeing everyone's basing tutorials showing just the base with no mini.

    what kind of glue would you use to put the zombicide abominotaur on to a base like this? Thanks

    • @HeroesBosses
      @HeroesBosses  4 роки тому

      I would trace around his feet with a marker while he's on the base, and leave that spot without mud - then use superglue. Plastic glue won't work. Or leave the abominotaur attached and put the mud around the feet. If you already have the base made, then you will likely want to pin him to the base (drill steel pins into his feet).

    citadel paint that can crack only techical agrellan earth? or all technical can crack?

    • @madluper
      @madluper 5 років тому +1

      Farhan Sakti there are few paints in citadel technical line which cracks but not all. There are some acting very different - for making blood / oxide effects etc, not for earth texture.

    • @HeroesBosses
      @HeroesBosses  5 років тому +1

      Martian Iron Earth, Martian Iron Crust, Agrellan Badlands and Agrellan Earth are the paints that produce cracks.

      @HeroesBosses  4 роки тому

      I've tried - I haven't had it work as well as Agrellan earth, but if you have a good formula for it definitely use it. Agrellan Earth is very expensive for what you get.
