Same topics over and over. Talking about it and no solutions.
90k to 120k will be more comfortable if the government stop taxing income so much. And lowering other taxes like sales tax...
There are no solutions. They talk about it because "talking" gets them their next paycheck.
Easy get a higher paying job.
the solution is voting republican
Vote Red
Oakland Just Requires a personal Firearm
😆
No
But how can you use your gun?
Too bad the city and state believe only criminals should have weapons.
Oakland requires body armor
“I kinda live ok but that’s because I live with my parents”. Bro.
Good for him
Mafia 😁
Lmfao
“comfortably”? More like bare minimum and living with roommates LOL
Or you can be a politician, or a criminal, or a homeless guy, and you don't need to worry about "earning" anything. The taxpayers will throw money at you.
In San Francisco you need to make at least $300,000 to be middle class. It seems as though most here earn $400,000 to $500,000 on average.
This sucks for all mankind
More like $500k
what is "living comfortably"...I sacrifice certain things to live in a nice apartment
If you moved to Alabama, you wouldn't have to sacrifice anything
@@mr.b3168 its honestly not much I've sacrificed. I just live very simply. I've never been into buying things just because I can. but having a nice place is important to me.
Comfortable means I don’t do drugs, alcohol and sex 😂😂
Smart!
What’s crazy is with that income of being comfortable you still can’t purchase a home in the area you want to be in. 😢
The numbers are always dumbed down
Reduce the taxes and everybody's comfortable
I did by moving from California to Nevada ! Saving me big Bucks on my retirement check,,,Housing is cheaper,Gas Is Cheaper !!
It's not the taxes, however. It is solely the cost of housing. If you own a home (no home loan payment) you purchased 30 years ago (the 1% state property tax is relatively low), the cost to live in the San Francisco Bay Area is just slightly higher than most other cities and their suburbs.
Crazy how far Irvine $$$ has risen. It's always been kinda expensive but no where near SF/Bay area expensive until now. My sister bought a 3bed/3bath 1500sqft townhouse in Irvine in 2018 for $680k, it's now worth $1.2million...ridiculous!!! A townhouse...not a home costing $1.2million
Yeah
I was making $675,000 a year and lost my Fremont home to foreclosure, so I quit my job and took a job in Idaho making $7.25 an hour and I now eat garbage out of the trash and live in a Volvo and it is just wonderful.
I'll just foward this to my employer.
Why? Do you want a pay cut or layoff?
If you own a house free and clear and don’t have kids, it’s possible to live comfortably on $50K a year in San Jose. Food doesn’t cost that much.
If you’ve just bought a house with a mortgage and have at least one kid, then you’d need around $250-300K a year to be comfortable as 60% of your after tax income goes to cover the monthly payments and day care.
The $124K average for San Jose is rather meaningless.
They make fun of the worker to his face lol
Are these numbers for a family of 4?
Bullshit Vallejo is a city in the bay where it’s cheaper then Oakland
They say big cities
Not true! If you been living in the same place for over 20 years, your rent is still reasonable. Many people live in the city making less than 60k, even 50k. They have been for 20-30 or more years. These numbers are for those new and starting here, but what if you been here 10,20,30,40 or more years?
I have lived in the same place for 13 years in Crockett, rent raised 10 percent in 2023 and now another 10 percent for 2024. The landlord told us they will raise it every year. I can make it another year but after that I will have to move somewhere else. Kinda upset about it.
Yard not included, but crime is! Lol
Daily dose of crime for $100K 😂
yeah especially in Oakland!!! Easily the worst worst city in the entire USA~!!!!!
@@TiffyBackup Tenderloin in San Francisco is Awful! That's the worst!!
Would you mind sharing who makes up these numbers?
It will take $325 dollars hour in the future because they think everyone is rich
This how much is cost for a single Saturday outing for a family of 4: 2 meals: lunch and dinner; gasoline/toll/parking; paid entertainment.
Crimes and homeless, still live comfortably, no need to make 100K. 😎
I live in a 4000 Sq ft house (5 BR/4Ba) on an acre of land close to restaurants and shops. I bought my house for $400K in 2013. Naturally, this is not in CA. How much would I need to earn to have the same house in the Bay Area?
If Oakland is so expensive then why are there so many Tyrone and Shaniqua
Because those names are popular.
I make 130k and still couldn't afford a home outright.
Comfortable is such a loaded word
yes in Irvine, you need about 250,000 to live properly
Crazy I live in a Small suburb of Phoenix and it’s so safe and affordable
Yeah but then you gotta deal with that heat for majority of the year. You always get what you pay for in life. Thats a fact
You can easily afford to move to North Korea.
Imagine making 99k to live in a 3rd world city like oakland.
That last part is literally what Oakland is. ahahaha
That is funny. I relocated from the Bay Area (specifically Cupertino) to Irvine in 2019 and YES, I can confirm that Irvine has now caught up to the Bay Area in terms of cost of living…because Silicon Valley dudes like me moving down south to screw up the real estate market with our higher salaries and stock options 😊
One day you high earning migrants will be forced to leave this country. That day will bring back the housing prices to its normal state
Oakland groceries store cost 35% + more then in sj
No they don’t
daycare? double whatever the number is when you got kids
Who told you to have kids that you knew that you could not afford?
Looking at the thousands of empty "affordable housing" buildings that continue to be built along Market Street
Uhhh those are "luxury": apartments not affordable. That's why they empty. 😅😅
All apartments in the bay say now leasing lol
Use the ratio of "python job openings to the cost of a renovated bathroom". The ratio is highest in the DC area, specifically Prince George's county Maryland. Domestic migration is the only way out of working class phase of life.❤
"Oakland is the only city that does not require 6 figure income" yeah but its less than $700 away from 6 figures lol
living here in Stockton 209 is much cheaper than living in the Bay Area plus Stockton is not that far from the Bay Area
We all agree this is ridiculous and several things need to be done about it
these data is wrong XD whats the point of these imformation so we all realize we gatta move out from the bay area !
This is the bare minimum not comfortably, to live comfortably, you would need 1 and a half that.
Are the affordability numbers based on a household of 1 person or what??
This isnt fair. San francisco has been known for being expensive
What about Mississippi?
It's not worth mentioning.
Homelessness is free. Just do that.
It is far from free considering all that you have to deal with on the streets.
Rental properties are rent gouging the American people, rent needs to reduce by $350 to $400 less per month
If you make less than $450,000.00 /yr, you will be struggling!!! $124,000.00 for San Jose doesn't even cut it if you RENT!!!
Remenber people, this number is BEFORE TAXES!!!!
About $3300 a month median rent?
We can't compete with Russia or China. My gosh.
If prostitutes can live in luxury homes, then I don't see the problem.
my friends work and own Irvine company
It's a setup
One making buck thrity in sf can only live comfortably in a tent.
Ooo 😲 im moving to Oakland 😁
Wow Oakland is the cheapest place to live
And dies young .😂😂
350k up....or400k now with kids
Oakland: I wonder Y
Live in your van. Shower at the gym. You will live, save more comfortably.
if you are single with no kids you could possibly make it on 200,000 in a smell apartment in S.F and live pretty good if you can take the crime otherwise you would have to move up to where the mayor and the elite live then you would need at least 400,000 a year but you sure as hell won't be living as good as the mayor trust me.
I LIVE IN BAY AREA and FBI AGENTS TAKE ALL MY MONEY 😔🇺🇸✌️
lol, the numbers are stupid. Out of touch
🌁
You need wayyy more than 131k. Maybe if you’re single
Oakland is not the only city 🤣
Just to live "Comfortably". So, they didn't take into consideration kepping up with the Joneses.
Niece 2 bed two bath 4k a month
Comfortably means that you can still keep your cocaine habit.
How is 99,900 a year not six figure income !! $100 less!! This is crappy news.
Realtors are criminals for buying properties and reselling them at high prices. It is a job that needs to go away.
let's see if it can be sustained. lol
oakland haha
You just need to make more money lol
You can only make it if you are a CEO, hooker or drug dealer.
😂🤡🤡🤡🤡😂
get this u need a 100k to live comfortably in the ghetto of Oakland!!
oh how far California has fallen!!
Houston is so much better!!!! Much much better weather too!!!
Are you sure, Houston better weather then California.? Don’t eat your word ok.
@@wanderinglife1142. Bay area is different than the rest of cali. Its cold all year in sf/oakland
Definitely not accurate!
Newsomnomics. Recall Newsom again and vote Breed and these democrats out of office.
people are out of line
Bidenomics, it’s working 😱
Non sense
Why? If you want to taste reality, then you should move out of your parents' house.
@@Omar_Zazzleit might surprise you but I’m the landlord :)
Propaganda
Raise the minimum wage to $50 per hour.
Disgusting
