Oh no Bella! Please don't call him Old Man!! He's younger than me!! Excellent progress on fixing stuff up! I hope the replacement motor gets sorted fast!!
Here's to Fair winds and Full sails , as you set sail down the coast to your destination. You've most def earnt it with the constant running repairs you've been be-set by. Happy Mothers Day from an Aussie mum/nan . 🇦🇺🤗🙏💞👍✌️👏❣️🇦🇺
There's this gadget I saw on one of the other sailing channels. I don't know how large of an anchor it will handle but it really has a big handle so I'll bet a pretty large anchor could be brought up. A manual winch. Very cool , one of the channels spending a lot of time in Baja has it. Might be that wooden boat ? Salt and Tar ? I think its a great back up. I'm asking them what it is , model name and such. That four cycle will run for a really long time !
Hi guys love the new boat. ( not so new i know) I havent watched you guys for quite some time as well as every other you tube channel i love. I just wanted to say how healthy and well Lee looks and the more upbeat you seem. Good on ya Lee. Hopefully ill catch some more episodes aboard the Catalpa 2, stay safe, ciao for now.
I know it's too late now but if I needed a quick fix for the windlass I would check out second hand "semi-truck" starters, or new ones, best of luck guys, Al
Hey Lee & Sara- I really like the Smaco.., Great Value and I noticed they sell a bit of kit with a 12v Refill Unit! I wish they'd send me one, but its a game changer item I plan on getting!
Old cracked pipes pretty much replaced everything that can deteriorate in time like seals and tubes o rings etc. it had just been sitting without use for a long time
Those brushes did not look worn out and they look like Chev pickup brushes, also they were too small, the diesel ones would be the right size, and are about $5 each. Boat parts are bend you over price.
Another video of showing Lee's patience & expertise. Safe pasage guys.
Ballsiest sailing family on UA-cam. Pulling for you guys.
Cheers mate
Good job getting the dinghy motor running! 👏 ❤

Cool! I used to fly those hovercrafts. Chances are I know the pilot if that exact one 🤙🏾
Great work old man 😂
😏
Love the tunes on this one!
The good thing about being in San Diego, boat parts are probably easier and faster to get. Your boat is getting there, then to the open seas.
Yes new parts are easier to get there for sure
Excellent!!!
You might have more luck getting those brushes at an automotive starter and alternator repair shop ….that’s where I got mine…

Bloody boats! Theres always numerous things that need fixing!
solve the problems step by step
Hi
A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one. The captain sure has some skills!
He sure does
How long did it take to get this amount of hull growth?
Maybe 4 months
@@SailingCatalpa thanks for the reply. Nature is amazing and frustrating in this case. Fair winds and following seas.
Why couldn't you claim safe harbour under the laws of the sea - I thought a yacht of that size would require a working windlass for safety ??
Yeah we did and extended for a few days
@@SailingCatalpa thanks and well done - safety is number one - enjoy
So what was the problem with the outboard??🇦🇺👌
Old cracked pipes pretty much replaced everything that can deteriorate in time like seals and tubes o rings etc. it had just been sitting without use for a long time
@@SailingCatalpa Sweet, thanks for replying, all good in Aussie, weather's perfect. 🤣👍🇦🇺
