If they want to stop people speeding place 2 sets of 2 speed bumps 5-7ft apart either side of the ford. Having two together means if you hit it any more than 10mph you kind of get see-sawed from the first on to the second and thrown up again, it all but throws you out of your seat. Worked on a building site that had them nasty bolted down black and yellow speed bumps by a section of road that went from base tarmac to the topped out layer, I found out the hard way xD

It's not just the safety of those spectating though is it. Other road users can be directly effected. All it takes is someone to lose control, panic as another vehicle approaches the bridge (We've seen many recent clips on youtube of close collisions at this ford). Do you think everyone will be safe then? If someone tries to avoid an oncoming vehicle as they are driving across fast, as they swerve they lose control and go into the crowds not on the bridge. Please don't say that's not possible because these situations can happen in the most unimaginable way. There is harmlessness in splashing kids waiting on the bridge but this can be achieved without driving dangerously.

It's a 30MPH road and splashing people or other cars is an offence under the Road Traffic Act, you get points on your licence and a fine, which goes to the treasury, not the police. Some of the these drivers are treating it like an offroad event, rather than a public road.

If they are so bothered, put a speed camera up. Oh I forgot, they only go in areas where they can prove there are lots of accidents, not used to boost revenue.
They're wasting their time as the CPS will not prosecute anyone going through a ford that splashes water. They can stop people and do checks, but this is all for show and serves no purpose. It's an excuse used by people who are not wanting to answer more important calls.
Odds are they're there because the community raised concerns of speed and poor driving. If a more important call came in they'd take it. As for CPS, they wouldn't be involved so you need not worry there.

It's a 30MPH road and splashing people or other cars is an offence under the Road Traffic Act, you get points on your licence and a fine, which goes to the treasury, not the police. Some of the these drivers are treating it like an offroad event, rather than a public road.

Whilst watching these videos is entertaining.....the way some drive through at stupid speeds, someone will eventually get seriously hurt. It was only a matter of time before the police started clamping down on the idiots.
@@stevebroughton4787 We all started watching only to see the cars breaking down, and none of them were driving at reckless speeds to achieve that either. But since this hit the new channels it's become a extreme sport! A reckless dangerous one. It literally is an accident wiring to happen.
At 1:10 that Land Rover nearly caused a head on, because he soaked the windscreen of the other driver through reckless driving.
