Ranni: "send word far and wide. Of the last Queen of Caria, Rennalla of the Full Moon. And the majesty of the night she conjureth." aka: "tell everyone that my mom is a BADASS!"
She’s really fuckin cool lol this is one of my favorite cutscenes in the game lol she walks up, eyes closed like “that’s right! Gas me up!” Lol shoutout Ranni the Witch. You were a great hypeman
I actually dont like her, she forgot who she was because of love, if that person you love makes you change to a total diff person (in a bad way like it happened to rennala) then its not love. I still can see why Ranni respects her, she was a a true menace back in the day but her present day persona does not show that at all *Was she daughter of godfrey? I can imagine why she lost herself to radagon, as she was a full magic user godfrey probably didnt liked her or didnt pass time with her, that's why when she meet radagon she saw a father figure in him, well this a little nonsense theory i have but i am using some irl logic that may not work like that in game lore
I love how Rennala youthful appearance and blue eyes made her look like a innocent looking overgrown child in a robe that is too large for here, yet in the second phase Rennala's appearance become that of a powerful regal queen with a steely, piercing gaze just by changing her expression and posture. It's like the game trying to reminds you that the defenseless weird woman you just beat was the same sorceress queen who led an army of magic knights that fought army that defeated fire giants and ancient dragons to a stalemate.
In the pair of cutscenes for this boss fight, there are several shots that emphasize a characters eyes. The Juvenile Scholars have sectoral heterochromia which emphasizes their otherworldly and synthetic nature. Rennala has gold eyes in her introductory cutscene representing how the Erdtree's lineage, specifically Radagon, had bewitched her and essentially diminished her inherent ability. In the transitional cutscene, Rennala's eyes are a deep blue representing her Carian heritage and full magical ability. Melina has one gold eye and one blue eye.
0:57 - "Send word far and wide!" Chilling! Ranni's says those words in a manner to make them as sharp as a razor and as austere as an iron beam, emphasizing the sheer deference and respect that Rennala once commanded.
Yeah I know! I just have a crush on ranni and her badass words like. "Upon my name is Ranni the Witch. Mother's rich slumber shall not be disturbed by thee. Foul trespasser, send word far and wide. Of the last Queen of Caria, Rennalla of the Full Moon. And the majesty of the night she conjureth."
I never noticed before until today but at 0:57, you can actually see your character backing up cautiously as Ranni's full-powered version of Rennala walks menacingly towards you
God damn man I've always loved the cutscenes in the soulsborne series but Elden Ring is just so damn epic with almost every single one, it's so enjoyable having a huge portion of the main bosses actually speak. From Godrick to Rennala/Ranni to Morgott, all fantastic voice lines that just give you chills.
I find first phase of this boss strange, obscure but beautiful. Lots of kids crawling, singing, trying to stop us by biting, rebirthing while their mom holds an egg and floating. Also music hits different. Thats some Evangelion shit here.
Ranni's voiceover had me thinking I failed the quest so I immediately alt + f4'd to tru and save my plahthrough. Great cutscene just wish it didn't give me a heartattack
This…. This alone would be reason enough for Ranni to hate you. You’re basically trying to kill Ranni’s mom to boost your credentials for that position (Elden Lord) you want.
This isn't the best boss fight in the game, hell it's not a good boss fight by any stretch of the imagination, but this cutscene never fails to give me goosebumps. You set off a security system designed not to just protect Rennala but to show off who exactly do you think you're messing with here, buddy. This is Rennala of the Full Moon, Last Queen of Caria, Head of the Academy of Raya Lucaria, mother to Empyreans, former wife of Radagon, she who fought the armies of the Golden Order to a stalemate. You think you can just walk in here and smack her around, well foul Tarnished, as Margit might say, lay these foolish ambitions to rest. Here is my mother in all her glory - think you can take her? And Ranni says it in such a grandiose way that I'm actually ashamed of what I typed. This is genius, man.
The Rennala we fought initially was a grief-stricken widow whose husband walked out on her. The Rennala we fought after that is the Queen in all Her Majesty
You forgot the last part of the cutscene, where she instantly disintegrates you and you respawn in the debate parlor.
Exactly

She should’ve hyped up Goldwyn instead of killing him

And sorry for the bible
@@ezenatiello2017 no, Rennala was a normal human. She was the princess of Caria, she has no ties at all with Godfrey

I like that it seems this wasn't Ranni actually being there, but more like you setting off a security system.
Yea an enchantment put in place long ago, just getting activated
That seems legit considering she has a chest in the same room. Maybe like a spell cast on the egg itself
Ranni probably prerecorded that voice message

Melina have a greyed eye and a dark violet eye
@@MaeMay13The "greyed" eye is the result of a permanently burned retina which means she can only see though the eye that was closed as a companion

One of my favorite cutscenes in the game fr
Mine too, so far. I haven't finished my first playthrough yet. To be honest I thought there would be more cutscenes.
@@sir_micho the only one who tops that for me, is the final boss cutscene and malenia's
@@lucascruz9948 still ahead of me :)
@@sir_micho there's way more cutscenes in the last 20% of the story.
There isnt that many cutscenes
That image Rennala holding out that staff infront of the full moon is just beautiful.

sis just put you in a her genjutsu id be backing up too
Crazy thing is, we beat that version of her
It's not Rennala in full power, otherwise the fight would be excessively difficult.
Ranni loves her mom this is so beautiful 🥺
Seriously!!
Best daughter.
When I saw her open her eyes in the transitional cutscene the first time I got chills.
"Send word far and wide!"🥶🥶🥶🥶💙💙💙💙
This was my first "oh shit" moment. Well to be honest Godrick was...but this was the first in terms of awe.
Yea he may have been a family embarrassment and a disgrace to the species but he did have some very cool scenes.
Had to come back and watch this after beating hear. Such a great cutscene!

Incredible. Every name and title in this game is so great.
I always liked this one even in this fucked up word Ranni protects her mom.
One of the greatest queen's ever
She is beautiful

I just love how Ranni Talk in this scene
I like the actress - Aimee-Ffion Edwards, she has a nice Welsh (I guess) accent.
@ yees its exactly the reason why i love so much this cutscene !

I genuinely loved this cutscene. This is Ludwig level
This is my favorite intro in the game. I wish the battle was more difficult
this goes so hard
Mommy? Sorry mommy? Sorry mommy? Sorry Mommy?
I feel like Ranni used the Rune on her Mother on the cutscene
