I was always a huge sucker for Ledian despite it being REALLY bad in vanilla, so imagine my suprise and joy when I first ran it in my team and saw it be the offensive threat I always prayed for it to be. As bonkers as this rom hack is I sincerely have to thank the developers for buffing Ledian and every other Pokemon that's had a tough time.

How these mons play out in practice: Weavile…. there’s a GOOD reason why it has an attack nerf. Before 1.6 it was 100 base attack, and that proved to be absurd with its kit. Even now it can either rip through anything instantly with banded violent rush assaults, or use hyper aggressive on sd sets to give bite a similar flinch chance to double iron bash to cheese its counters. Chatot hasn’t been explored, but the most likely role it poses is actually as a stall killer: mold breaker stops its nasty plot antics from being blocked by unaware, taunt prevents healing and roost keeps it healthy to batter teams, it only really needs chatter, but it can drop one of those non damaging moves for boomburst. Forretress mainly finds a niche as one of the few good spinners, tho it also good for reliably setting rocks. Ledian hasn’t seen much general use, but on monotype with fighting and especially bug it is a godsend, giving the types extra outs against psychics, rocks, and, with aerodynamics, flyers
What would be Weavile's best Ice STAB? Because Triple Axel doesn't get boosted by Hyper Aggressive. Also Hyper Aggressive turns Power-Up Punch into a built-in Swords Dance, like it was with Mega Kangaskhan in the base games, so SD seems a bit pointless to me now.
On my monobug run, Ledian actually was one of the pokemon that carried my team with Shedinja, and Kricketune because of their immunities like Ledian being immune to flying types due to aerodynamics
I really like Pollinate Comet Punch on Ledian as it's a priority move in this game. With a Choice Band it's a surprisingly good revenge killer. Basically a budget Marowak
The music, editing, and structure makes it so easy to stay engaged, great video. Would love to see a video on changes with more megas, or the Ultra Beasts (if there is a noticing enough change with them)
Deino is silly. It evolves really late but because of hustle deino and zweilous with eviolite end up having a higher effective BST than most fully evolved pokemon in the game at that point in time while also having access to wicked blow and outrage and a pretty good attack stat (with hustle). And then late game hydregion is still very viable. Aegislash has keen edge and a bunch of great stab options, you can get honedge at granite cave by fighting steven before the 2nd gym, and aegislash evolves with a dusk-stone so he's a full evo with a crazy bst very early on. He's also the best pokemon in the game for fighting specifically gyms 2 and 5 as well as one of the best tank pokemon in general. Alakazam is really good and its evo line hits early power spikes. Catch an abra at granite cave and once it evolves all you need is a specs set, you'll get 2+ kos with it in nearly every battle its in. Dreadnaw is also silly. It evolves after the first gym, gets SHELL SMASH, and between primal maw, long reach, and water + rock STAB plus the option for fighting or ice type coverage, beats nearly everything without priority using a shell smash set for most of the game.
Love the content! You should totally do a video ranking the buffs to the eeveelutions. Leafeon is an insane wall breaker with grassy surge, big leaves, and feline prowess. Pairing it with a drought volcarona made some elite 4 and post game fights incredibly easy.
My favorite Ledian set: Power up punch, Mach punch, Close combat, and Aerialate Mega punch with a focus sash. Flying/Fighting coverage is a vicious combo, focus sash ensures you can get off a double-hitting power up punch, and Mach punch knocks out anything that’s too fast for the little bug. Monstrously strong sweeper, especially for how early it’s accessible. This thing can be a strong E4 mon and you get it before the second gym.
I’m not too sure if they nerfed it yet, but meowstic (male) I with a scarf is actually absurd, the only thing stopping it’s expanding force is a dark type or another scarf user
Ledian deserves all he buff love it can get, so it's no wonder several hacks buff the hell out of it. Give it a BST buff and/or an evolution that fixes the issues with it. Such an awesome design doesn't deserve to be wasted with horrible stats.
JYNX is one mon that really surprised me with how useful it was for just cleaning routes out completely. The speed buff plus psychic surge and expanding force???? slap a focus sash and you get a LOT of mileage. also it has a 85% acc sleep move.
I think when I Think underrated I think of three pokemon Ribombee Great early game Carry. With the spore moves + compound eyes. Levitate + Shield dust to prevent it from getting ko'd / flinched early. Sticky webs and a nice moveset. Even if you can't use spore moves in a gym it's still a good tailwind or pollon puff user. Plusle / Minun Both do the same job but slap a gem or choice item on them and watch them go to town. Victreebell Corrosion + toxic is always gonna be a nasty combo. But big leaves + gluttony means this thing will stay on the field much much longer combined with arena trap and this thing easily becomes a menace to most teams if unprepared.
Plusle and Minun are actually super great here, but their best usage is doubles so, due to that, not many are aware of them. Since they've Lightning Rod, Plus/Minus, and Transistor, you simply lock one of them into L. Rod and somewhat good coverage (their coverage is kinda mid so it's basically betting that Fairy stab does the work whenever you need something else most of the time) and the other into Discharge + Transistor combo to boost the partner and deal good damage. Once you get a boost or two, your partner basically destroys anything that Discharge hasn't yet.
A pokemon that i think has massive potential, but was held back by game freak is Alolan raichu. Under the right conditions, the lil bean can ANNIHILATE opponents. It's a UNIT in electric terrain, even when it was first introduced. Surge surfer is hella nutty. In gen 8, it got rising voltage. In electric terrain rising voltages piwer doubles to 140. With electric terrain, A-Raichu can outspeed and strike you with a 180 bo move. (thanks to stab and electric terrain boost) in gen 9 they got rid of it. Effectively nerfing my lil buddy😢 This rom hack tho changes that. It gives Alolan raichu, levitate, making it immune to eq, it gets a new second ability that allows him to strike ground type, which is HUGE. Lasly, they gave it electric surge, effectively allowing it to outspeed for five turns lmao. Give it a life orb and rising voltage and watch the opponents health bar disappear.
its fun seeing these with 2.0, out. now noctowl had a new evolution in the ghost/flying phantowl, though it takes a hit in its speed (down to 55) and its ability to support with tailwind, it now can prove to be a offensive threat with its 96 spa, as well as greatly being able to take hits with its 105 hp, 90 def, and 126 spdef. instead of aerialate, it now has spectralize, allowing it to fire of STAB ghost boombursts that are gonna hurt anything that dosnt resist. it keeps the strong innates of nocturnal and majestic bird, but gets a new one called moon spirit. This gives it additional STAB to dark and fairy moves, as well as making moonlight now heal for 75%, giving it incredible longevity
I've been sweeping the big trainers of this game with Ledian. I've swept May twice now and almost the entirety of the weather institute. Goated mon TBH
Ledian is one of my main mons. Glad to see him get some love in this video. Power up punch is better sword dance because it hits twice and i run aerilatw mega kick over pollinate because levitate buffs flying by 25% almost making it a STAB. Love these videos. Haven't seen some other mons i use all the time like Chimeco and Appletun yet. Would be cool to see what you think of them.
I actually like Chatot. Access to one of the most powerful Boomburst in the game always made him stand out. He's also super unique in regards to most Normal/Flyings because he's a special attackers.
I started playing Redux yesterday and I was disappointed because of the attack drop for Weavile, then I saw the innates and I knew it was for good cause in the moment I thought on Triple Axel boosted by Technician and all the other abilities and it was absurd keeping the main line games attack.
Idk what would you name it but do you plan on doing a Pangoro vid cuz imo it's been hella buffed getting getting abilities like mold breaker and iron fist which combined with anger point works works well with him having low speed so if you give him 0 speed EVs drain punch pretty much deleting any Mon weak to fighting and revenge (idk if it works i aint boutta find out either) It also got power trip if you get the chance to set up with bulk up Idk why but it also has a suprising amount of special coverage moves like sludge bomb, focus blast, grass knot, surf, snarl, hyper voice, and in ER vacuum wave (specs Pangoro sweep 👀)
What I would find really cool was if you did something like a "Top 10 best Elite Redux Pokémon" video, excluding all Mega and Ubers/post game Pokémon. I believe Weavile and Marowak would get a spot.
Rabsca , reuniclus, ceruledge, amaura are all dope for me specially Rabsca and Ceruledge , with trick room when it enters the battle also hits twice . Rabsca will easily destroy 3 of the pokemons of opponent and then i switch in reuniclus .

Ledian was built to be a defensively bulky screen setter, but since it's a bug/flying type I think you can see why that didn't work out.

Taxel is still its strongest ice stab even on hyper aggressive sets due to technichian and tough claws
And sd is more reliable since it lets you boost against ghosts, making your opportunities more wide
