- Todays video is a Rundown of Noels 90 series Prado.
We have a cracker of a trip planned for October of 2022 to Fraser island, with more people and more time on the west coast!
If you haven't yet done so, make sure to check out our 2021 trip!
Fraser island 2021:
part 1: • FRASER ISLAND EAST COA...
part 2: • FRASER ISLAND EAST COA...
Cheers!
you can put the swag over the solar panel since the alternator will charge your dual battery whilst you drive. I’d imagine you’ll remove the swag once you stop driving to set up camp.
Since I don't run a dcdc charger that makes the most sense.
thanks for the comment!
I have exactly the same wagon with 216 k kms and im getting pretty good milage on 95. Its only slightly more than my subaru 3.0 h6. On a run @90 kmh its decent MPG
Hi Noel, i just got a 90 series Prado recently. I am looking into getting steel bash plates for it. Where did you get yours from? Cheers
I bought mine from brown davis directly allthou they do only cover up to the bell housing. It can be difficult to find bash plates for this car but not impossible.
Nice set up mate - thanks for the run down. I just bought a 2001 95, also V6 and love it so far. Just wondering about servicing (I'm not planning on doing it myself) - where is best to take them? A Toyota / Jap specialist - or just any decent mechanic should be ok? Cheers
any decent mechanic, ask for them to do a minor service then see if they give you an itemized list. garbage mechanics give garbage receipts. alternatively i have my own basic service video if you wanna give it a go yourself, either way look after it and it'll look after you.
I thought 90 is the SWB and 95 is the LWB model. Im not a motor head but just want to know if this is right
Yeah this is correct, both models are a 90 series but being specific the lwb is a 95
Hey mate nice 90
I’m looking at getting one few questions !
1- can she hold 100 or just over fairly easy ?
2- how she go on the sand when let tyres down ?
3- what’s highway fuel economy like? I understand their thirsty but on trips heard they get low teens which is fine by me standards
Cheers!
1- yeah pretty easy on 32s just dont expect it to get there fast.
2- temp gauge doesn't really move, drop it to 16ish psi and you'll be fine does well.
3- I averaged 14.5 with all the mods, but stock i used to get around 12.2
thanks for asking the questions, theyre an awesome car great first 4x4, just make sure the cooling system has been looked after and check for oil leaks, usual old 4wd stuff.
hope you get one i do not regret buying mine :)

@@jpc443 I have a patrol although it’s fun looks mint, I wanna try a Toyota just do so haha I need a comfy reliable wagon , only thing that puts me off is ifs front but that’s silly thinking about it so I’m hoping to get one by end of the year 👍🏻
I wouldn’t say get cheapest muddies tho. But nice rig overall mate
Yeah just depends on what the "cheapest muddies" that dealer has stock of, i feel like the ones i have are like, your bare minimum
