My favorite queen is one of the first I met but she passed away a few years ago. This was like 2010 before drag race went popular. She knew how to control the crowd. She knew makeup. She knew how to perform. No it wasn’t always big feathers and glitter. Sometimes it was a cocktail dress, but she did it.
The outfit doesn't matter when it comes to performances on stage, the entertainment is what matters imo.(im not talking drag race, im talking drag shows at clubs) I've seen Drag Queens perform in a tight skirt and a spaghetti strap, and I was more entertained by those queens than the ones who wore gowns or had a lot going on outfit wise, but I do greatly appreciate outfits and the time and work it takes to get into drag alone, it's just that you can tell who has the most entertaining talent in the lineup vs who has the most fashion talent. My deepest and sincere condolences to you honey. 💜🙏

i've recently been doing open stage on drag night at a bar with a good mix of older and newer artists (by that i mean mostly queens with the exception of me and one other king) and i cannot IMAGINE being arrogant in the same room as the house mother host who's been in the game for 17 years. without her there wouldn't even be an open stage event for me to perform in!!!

I just have to ask, why is there such a push back from some of the younger kids when a more seasoned, experienced Adult wants to mentor them? I went to a drag show in the '80s and that was one of the baddest entertaining I ever seen in my life better than RuPaul's and when some of them took their costume and their makeup off unbelievable I would have never knew that was that person that was on that stage with all of that beautiful makeup and clothes I ain't got nothing against you guys but I'm just letting you know y'all is very entertaining but that was the last time I went to one be blessed

It's crazy because the hit the wall age is supposedly 30 but mfs is so creepy nowadays it's really around 19-21 I remember when I was 26 and a queen only 4 or 5 years younger was calling me old lol. And she is right we got to let the competition and wanting to be better than other people thing go. We live in a vanity driven society so a lot of people are indoctrinated and influenced by what they see in their environment and the media. Battle it out and compete in ballroom or a game. Don't get depression and anxiety from competing as far as age and looks go because there's always gonna be somebody better than you!

42 years and some change since I came out and saw my first drag show. I don't do classical drag, but I've costumed for decades and I love my drag aunties. It wasn't the butch boys that had my back when the bigots got mouthy, it was the drag queens. Now, according to the young queerlings, I'm just an old, white, cis dude that's out of touch.
