I recoiled when the video started before going back to eating.
I just love how after the line “you’re not going to be a sponge, you’re going to be a dead prick” Lewis gets hit by a Trucking Tuesday then goes right into the rant after the round ends.
Whenever Lewis goes into an angry tirade, and the crew just laughing at him or the situation, is the funniest to me 🤣🤣

Nah... Hard disagree. Lewis' apoplectic rage tantrums aren't amusing anymore. Starting the cold open with Lewis yelling abusive crap at his friends does not compel me to stay tuned and unravel the mystery of the context. The opposite is now true. These days, whenever I hear Lewis ratcheting up his blood pressure in anticipation of an eventual cardiac incident, I simply say "Nah, fuck that noise.", pause the video, and shop around for something else watch.

I love Lewis going completely catatonic around 15:40 when all the guys start fighting over the sponge. You can tell he was not expecting the party to play the sponge this way, and was NOT happy about it lol

Whenever an episode opens with Lewis losing his mind, there should be a card saying "5 minutes earlier" before it cuts to the intro.
The sponge should auto heal over time so that it's harder to kill them. That way it's worse than other jester roles and so you shouldn't WANT to be the sponge until you're outed. Probably give it a slow heal or slightly lower max health as compensation. The need to take all the damage at once also gives the sponge a better reason to create chaos and do sneaky plays in order to win. Potentially you could even just give the sponge paladin aura since other players being alive is actually beneficial to the sponge and it gives them a reason to crowd the sponge.
Though intended for a last resort for jesters and swappers, it currently feels like an upgrade. I think slow heal works well or raising their max health. The oneshot kill idea seems interesting, but that kind of idea needs field testing.
You can see the Sponge auto-healing after the RMB at 11:20 . It's kinda slow but it's there

6 seconds in. This is the map where 'someone' said "AW YEAH! Get riggity riggity wrecked!" Then they got instantly killed by Tom.
Interestingly, there was always the thing people did where they would fight over swapper so they could troll with it.
By adding the spongifier to the swapper, now, when you become a swapper, you have actual win condition, so people fight over the role for troll reasons and because there is a fun way to win the game as well. Interesting how that logic happens.

5:39 Honestly I thought the same as Duncan based on the initial explanation. The Sponge can only win if they take lethal damage that was absorbed, not if you killed them directly. That's the trade-off for switching roles. But if the Sponge still wins via direct damage, it's just a better Jester.
no, not really. because innocents dont know whether you're the jester or not at the start, so a jester can act suspicious and be killed because people think they're a traitor. sponges are revealed when they switch, so everyone knows they are a sponge and dont shoot them. jesters arent revealed at the start and thus have a social/trickery element.
then it would be impossible to be the sponge because everyone knows when they're in the radius of a sponge. also they dont have the regular jester in this so the trade off is between the swapper where you can become another role which is probably easier to win than beiing a sponge. also jester to sponge has the disadvantage of outing yourself so youd probably only do it if you were already found out
Well it reveals you, so everyone knows who you are and what you're trying to do. That's the trade off, you can no longer pretend to be bad by acting sus.
@jamescarroll384 True, though in the last round we saw Ben accidentally kill the Sponge. So the Sponge gets to still jump in front of bullets, which is no different from a regular Jester.

I love the idea, of a swapper role, that has an instant win device, so everyone hunts it trying to become it, and activate it like they did here.
Maybe something rare, like a randomat.
If there was a charge-up time on the device, this idea would actually kick ass. Kind of like the maps with the win buttons, except the button is a person.

Yeah, the sponge's health should be set to 200 rather than doubling their CURRENT health as that leads to sponges with only two hp.
Also, a good idea is that roles with the win condition of dying shouldn't prematurely end the round. Its why old jester was as annoying as it was.

You know I’ve watched every episode of ttt that’s had Lewis in it for many many many years. I have also been a avid fan of halo for years, and have always had the grunt birthday party skull enabled when I play it. I’m surprised I just now realized the jester/swapper kill sound is the same as the grunt headshot kill sound from halo

The sponge with the paladin is the best. Lewis was healing Zylus there so even when Zylus took damage for Lewis he wasn't dying.

give the sponge some strong regen, it'll help negate the chances of victory from just the swapper shenanigans or people helping the jester and can be used as a neat buffer if someone hops in to avoid dmg

Maybe a 3 minute timer, similar to the drunk, should be implemented before you can trigger the sponge-efication.
This map has outstanding lighting, 10/10
To fix the Sponge:
1) Spongifier should fully heal the user.
2) Instead of ending the round when the Sponge wins, just have the player who killed them die.
3)Spongifier itself _maybe_ shouldn't transfer with the swapper role. This might make it more balanced but less fun, which is ultimately not good, at least until the novelty of a broken role wears off.
That sounds like a fun random mat for the swapper: Whoever is the swapper when the round ends wins. With the entirty last part of the video just being people wanting to be the swapper for sponge xD

You should be able to control the remote sticky bot like a man hack and walk them over to people
You could limit over-sponging by making pink roles wait a minute before being allowed to transform.

It's it possible to get a "two negations negate each other" rule into ttt? So, a paladin is immune to explosions, UNLESS, there's a sponge nearby.
And a randomat that makes everyone only take crowbar damage works as normal, unless its the jester shooting you.
Given that the idea is to help swappers play the game after they have been outed. You can lock the sponge item behind a timer to keep people from swapping so quickly to try and become the sponge. Although it was pretty funny this time.
I always love when people outside the normal group have to play.
