@@DexTVReactsto be honest, the song Insane is probably Eminem's dopest track he ever put out.. multi layers of storytelling and metaphors that will keep you awake at night 😘😘
Selling your soul, is literally just a figure of speech. I don’t know why so many people get hung up on that phrase as if these people are going out to meet the devil in the middle of the night to make a swap
Yeah in a way. It’s a common saying. He’s just a saying that he gave up his life for music. His soul is gone because the fame is so big he can’t just be himself
Joyner is fire, too. Worth giving him a deeper dive. I agree with what someone already said, that Em just feels like he gave up who he was, his core personality, to the game. His life, the addiction, family life. And now he can’t go anywhere or do anything.
i think when a lot of artists say they sold their soul, it doesn't mean selling your soul to the devil... it means giving up your life to fame... you can no longer ever have a normal life, because the whole world knows you. you are instantly recognizable and your image alone is worth money... but thats just what i think.
If you really don't know Em and his music or his history.. go listen to his hall of fame speech... he names all of his inspirations in alphabetical order.. amazing.
I think selling your soul is just giving all of your time, heart, and effort to the craft while damaging relationships. Luckily for Em, he has been able to rebuild some of those broken relationships while still being a GOAT
Gotta go back and listen knowing Joyner's 1st verse is the young hungry guy willing to do whatever, Em's verse is the contrast but it wasnt what he thought it would be or wanted. "All my life I want a grammy but I'll probably never get it" ... "Done won a couple grammys"
I think there's 2 parts to selling your soul, especially in the music industry. The negative aspect is pretty much giving in to the record labels and mainstream media, which Em probably felt more in the beginning. Then on the positive side, meaning that his heart and passion was all put in to his music. My favorite song of this album is Fall. He's pretty much taking shots at anyone that has a negative word about Revival.
selling your soul is, i think, compromising who you really are in order to get an advantage. so in a music sense, its doing certain things or styles or putting out certain songs that you wouldnt otherwise make, but you still do it for your label or because you want to be popular or win awards. i think em is saying that he got a lot of accolades like the grammys, but along the way he made some sacrifices with who he is to do it
great video and reaction! "there's level to this shit I have an elevator" he also has a song called "Elevator" that talks jokingly about having money to have a house with an elevator.
If you notice those things they were talking about copying them.. When em started going supersonic but still saying every syllable clearly.. All those things flew in the air bc they can't copy what he does.. They came back down once he started rapping with the doctor suess flow.. Not sure how many people catch it bc I haven't heard anything recognize it as a reactor or anyone in comment threads pointing it out.
“ Sold your soul to the devil “ - you made a deal to give give up your soul to the devil for a gift - money, power, fame, talent, etc.. It’s a way to explain extraordinary talents , like the famous story is of how blues guitarist Robert Johnson met the devil down at the crossroads In Mississippi and exchanged his soul for the gift of being an incredible guitarist. Basically saying no one can be that good naturally so they must have sold their soul to the devil to be able to play like that.
❤️ channel. Hope you keep growing! Marshall has given everything (still is) for his true love of rap. BTW, he gives a shout out to Paul Wall in “My Darling”. Now THAT’S an intense song you should consider… I can’t speak on͏ Drake but Marshall said he will always owe Drake for helping one of his daughters so, I never thought he was dissing him. 🤷🏻♀️ 16:21
Not that you have to do only diss tracks.. BUT.. if you REALLY want to hear Eminem talk his shit... DISS TRACKS is the REAL way to go!! His Diss Tracks have ENDED CAREERS!!
How did i never notice that joyner(in certain songs) sounds just like big sean. After you pointed it out ill never not notice it. Both are dope artists with different styles though. You know youve made it if em is on your track. Idc what anyone says em is goat and that wont change.
Because Em was in a tight spot 1 time many years ago. Might've had something to do w/entertainment for his daughters birthday party, I'm not sure so don't quote me on that. But ever sense then he has always had respect for Drake for pulling through for him. If Drake were to do anything that pissed Em off, he would still show Drake respect. Again, I'm totally not sure of the reason or what happened but I do know Drake came through for Em & ever sense that day Em has shown nothing but love & respect.
I think he's just saying that nowadays true MCing isn't what is important to the game. Whether it's drake or whoever.. he said the day he needs a ghostwriter he will just put the mic down!... how would a poet be a poet if they reciting someone else's words? That's called NARRATING not poetry
When you sell Your Soul ... Its their release ... To Speak Freely ... Then the hateful world can redact it and try to ... Redact it ... But The Versus FLOW! ... Words are Heard ... They Count on their Herd ... To try and cancel it if they feel its relevant to Carry their LOST TRIBE~!
This was def primo Eminem making an appearance You wanna know how to tell? Nowadays, or at least during Kamikaze Revival and MTBMB, the songs where Eminem leans in real HARD on the Dad joke type of bars? That’s modern Eminem. Again, at least these albums There’s songs littered through all 3 where you get THIS Eminem. Primo Em And this is how you tell Cuz how Em USED to rap was, the whole content of the verse would be crazy raps. And then the ender? Would be the Dad joke Think of it like with a comedian. You don’t throw the most risky joke FIRST. You build credit throughout the set/verse And then at the END. Once you got all that credit, you hit them with it. Cuz then? It lands super hard That’s how Eminem USED to rap. And when he does it. With a bit more in the verses like how he does now? It’s a hit, idc who disagrees This is how Eminem should rap I feel personally Go whatever direction with the message or content you wanna go with But the style? I always felt whenever Em goes too far outside of his style, it almost comes off like a parody This style, fits so well, it’s a wonder he doesn’t go back to it as much as he does Cuz if Em is gauging what he should do off the fans reactions, I would imagine he would see the reactions to songs like Lucky You or Darkness and realize ‘ohhhh that’s what they want’ Gnat is another great example of a modern appearance of primo Em
Yo …. I need you to do that UGK Murder lol. I from NY but Me being in the military back then my down south boys put me on to all the south shit. Back in 96. UGK 8 ball and MJG OutKast

People sleep on Em, but he can still bring fire. Gotta respect the work ethic

Should definitely do more joyner lucas. He has some bangers. Devils work, ISIS, revenge, I lied, I love...all good songs by joyner
He talking to a few people talking about ghost writing look up who ghost wrote for.
Joyner is fire, too. Worth giving him a deeper dive.

I just think it means they putting everything in their craft
You really analyze Em almost every bar is a double if not a triple, he’s on another level
To me, selling your soul is more of a saying than the literal selling of your soul.
It's a metaphor.
Em has steadily gotten better at his craft. 🤌🏻
Em is and always will be a student of Rap. He is always showing love to those that paved the way
do welcome to D block its fire
