See all of human history and the modest respectable and loved women with loving families and huge extended families. This LITERALLY happened to my best friends half sister. Her “father” her mother married and adopted after she was born, sent for her to get married at 14. Raped and abused for years and is now free remarried and doing better than ever, and speaking out to protect girls from the same fate!
My mom was married to my dad when she was 13 and my dad was like 30 and that marriage happened infront of everyone in the neighborhood and people and the fact no one did anything to stop it makes me sick Even those days child marriage was a serious criminal offence and even dowry happened in that wedding and How these crimes are happening and no one is doing anything to stop it is just so messed up. My mom never wanted to marry my dad she wanted to study and do a job but because she was married off she couldn't anything of that and now she lives through mine and my sister's dream. Not only child marriage, but almost everything, happening with women in my country Pakistan, is completely inhuman n cruel. I was forced to get married by my parents. I was physically, mentlly and emotionally abused and raped many times, even during pregnancy. My ex married 4 times. I fled from Pakistan with my 7 years old daughter thankfully. But the traumatic 9 years in Pakistan still give me night mares in USA that I have become a ptsd patient. God bless the women in Pakistan.

My mom got married at the age of 14, it was not against her will, she was a kid, she just accepted it because she did not know how to live her life in another way that time. She had to face so many troubles, she was always so strong. My dad made her life hard, no one was there to help her, she was so lonely, not knowing the language of the country she had to move to. It was a hard journey for her and still is. After having four kids and after more than 30 years of 'marriage' she is ready to finally get divorced. It's so sad. She is the strongest woman I know, despite all of that she never lost the kid in her heart 🤍

The same thing goes for Germany where I'm from. It's really scary to think about that and I'm glad it was changed by now. There are many politicians right now who are still active today in high leadership positions who voted against the law to make marital rape equally a crime in the 90's. Also gay marriage was legalized only a few years ago, being gay could be considered a crime until 1994 (even though persecution didn't always happen anymore) and charges for said "crime" were only removed from the victims records in like 2017. Yup it's a culture thing and people confused it with religion. In my country, arrange marriages happened before 1960's. After that when girls are focused on higher education, families just let their daughters choose her own husband. We're Muslims but our culture has changed 60 years ago. At least in my country.

Thankfully, India is progressing because of real modern women in my nation, focused on technical development to self-growth. A woman has to be independent before she takes this step. My aunts and sisters got married after 25, mostly after 30s, even my parents. It's all depends on mentality of a person which allows him to choose the path, accordingly karma works.
Hey I lived for 8-9 years in rural India, in my village, where 2-3/20 people are educated. Situation is worse here. They mary their daughters at 15-16 years. When you guys say India, you mostly mean urban India. Rural India is still infested with the old Practices.

I'm not 100% a fan of the law since 18 year olds can technically pay taxes and are treated like adults but would be second class citizens. Then again, some could lie about being 18 easily compared to lying about being 21

Let me burst the bubble for you and tell you where the real problem lies. And see if you have some lawyer friend. Muslim personal laws in India allow for marriage below 18. Though Muslims can marry under other marriage laws too which allows for marriage at 18 or above. Muslim personal laws are an exception to child marriage; because ofc Islam what can we expect. And that is where, uniform civil code debate comes in. One of my grandma's cousins was forced to get married at only 14 years old to a man that was in his late 20's or early 30's (Peru, 1940's). She was just a child who still played with dolls and never hot to finish school. Needless to say, her mother was a terrible one and the father was an alcoholic.
I moved to the gulf and got married at 16 to someone who I met for over a month she was a year younger than me and when I asked her she accepted and our parents also accepted our marriage and now 1 year later I'm 17 as of now we're expecting a child, the difference between here and the United States is here we get benefits and support. Our government pays for our medical bills and the necessary support. We were both mature in mind and educated on this matter and knew what we were going into. We went to the same private education systems and come from wealthy families and both loved each other. Looking at this video, it was forced, abusive, unnecessary, they shut down many paths for her education and knowledge. This was a one-way marriage. When it comes to marriage, both sides have to be mentally mature, have the proper ability to provide, have real love between and it should never harm the other side and instead benefit both, it should never in any way be forced and especially pressured. As of now we're happy and we love each other and I pray to God that it remains that way until death comes to us.

My mom was married to my dad when she was 13 and my dad was like 30 and that marriage happened infront of everyone in the neighborhood and people and the fact no one did anything to stop it makes me sick Even those days child marriage was a serious criminal offence and even dowry happened in that wedding and How these crimes are happening and no one is doing anything to stop it is just so messed up. My mom never wanted to marry my dad she wanted to study and do a job but because she was married off she couldn't anything of that and now she lives through mine and my sister's dream. Not only child marriage, but almost everything, happening with women in my country Pakistan, is completely inhuman n cruel. I was forced to get married by my parents. I was physically, mentlly and emotionally abused and raped many times, even during pregnancy. My ex married 4 times. I fled from Pakistan with my 7 years old daughter thankfully. But the traumatic 9 years in Pakistan still give me night mares in USA that I have become a ptsd patient. God bless the women in Pakistan.

My mom got married at the age of 14, it was not against her will, she was a kid, she just accepted it because she did not know how to live her life in another way that time. She had to face so many troubles, she was always so strong. My dad made her life hard, no one was there to help her, she was so lonely, not knowing the language of the country she had to move to. It was a hard journey for her and still is. After having four kids and after more than 30 years of 'marriage' she is ready to finally get divorced. It's so sad. She is the strongest woman I know, despite all of that she never lost the kid in her heart 🤍

Let me burst the bubble for you and tell you where the real problem lies. And see if you have some lawyer friend. Muslim personal laws in India allow for marriage below 18. Though Muslims can marry under other marriage laws too which allows for marriage at 18 or above. Muslim personal laws are an exception to child marriage; because ofc Islam what can we expect. And that is where, uniform civil code debate comes in. [Just do basic googling, also age of marriage is not yet raised to 21 for girls (& imo, it will never be raised because it is just illogical)....there are other ways to empower women]

In Islam, If you marry someone off without the consent, that is invalid like both the girl and the boy are not married and it would be considered adultery. THEY ARE NOT MARRIED, NOT A COUPLE!

One of my grandma's cousins was forced to get married at only 14 years old to a man that was in his late 20's or early 30's (Peru, 1940's). She was just a child who still played with dolls and never hot to finish school. Needless to say, her mother was a terrible one and the father was an alcoholic.
I moved to the gulf and got married at 16 to someone who I met for over a month she was a year younger than me and when I asked her she accepted and our parents also accepted our marriage and now 1 year later I'm 17 as of now we're expecting a child, the difference between here and the United States is here we get benefits and support. Our government pays for our medical bills and the necessary support. We were both mature in mind and educated on this matter and knew what we were going into. We went to the same private education systems and come from wealthy families and both loved each other.
Looking at this video, it was forced, abusive, unnecessary, they shut down many paths for her education and knowledge. This was a one-way marriage. When it comes to marriage, both sides have to be mentally mature, have the proper ability to provide, have real love between and it should never harm the other side and instead benefit both, it should never in any way be forced and especially pressured. As of now we're happy and we love each other and I pray to God that it remains that way until death comes to us.
