I grew to love this car - having had two 7 series and two X5 I completely buy in to the concept ... but only after some time with it ... initially I thought lux van but soon understood what it is really ... tempted ... very tempted
I completely agree, it is a lovely place to waft around in. The grill was an issue at 1st glance but realised it suited it. Gadgets on the car were great although some were ‘pointless’ but a good party trick.

Make sure he goes to chandlers in Hailsham 😉. I thought it was 1 of the best all round vehicles I have driven, fast and ultimate luxury. People are really hating the grill on the new cars especially the x7 but it really suited the car
MotorSport & Dream Cars he always used to take his cars their for their services (back before their new building they have now). This was back in the early 90s when he had his 850i and E32 Alpina b12 :) I see many of the x7s in Moscow, and the grille looks great in my opinion. It’s much nicer in person :)

A very watchable review and a very competent car, however the X7 styling is terrible particularly that front grill.
Thanks roger glad you enjoyed it. Its funny the grill grows on you (only a slight pun intended there) after a while. I was a bit taken a back when I picked up the X7 but by the end of the weekend I actually thought it was ok. Was a very very good SUV , have just put up a video of the x5 and have a lot of similarities but the luxury of the X7 is 2nd to none from BMW

I do love the interior but the outside of the car for me just doesnt look right. The grill is in my opinion too big. It needs to be bigger then normal but not that big and the rest of the car just looks odd. For the cost of that car too there are plenty of other same style 4x4s too. Not going to lie i think the BMW has the best interior but for me for outside looks i be stuck between the Volvo xc90 which is again a amazing car and the new mitubishi. I saw what look like a x7 size eclipse cross in red around Hammersmith and thought wow.
For that price and size though the new x7 has one of if not the nicest interior wha with the lighting and so on.
It really does seem the general consensus that grill is OTT. I actually don’t mind it and certainly a bold stance BMW have taken although I saw the new 7 parked at the dealership when we picked the X7 up and that looked even bigger (if that’s possible lol) i do not think it is actually bigger just the car is lower down and a bit smaller. Have just thought the Lexus RX has an even bigger grill. The inside is lovely and if I was a passenger I would be very very happy. Price wise it is certainly well up there with the likes of the Porsche , Audi and Mercedes. I would love to do a back to back with there offerings as well but it getting hold of them that’s an issue. This idea if a big grill makes my car different is just wrong and at the moment lexus and BMW are the two ruining their cars
