I have an old, old, Samsung Galaxy SIII from Verizon that's stuck on KitKat (no root, no custom OS, nothing) that I'm struggling to see what I can do with. Unfortunately a great deal of apps require Android 5 at least nowadays. Wanna make it a music player, and it's okay at that. I got an app/widget that allows me to use it like a flashlight, so there's that. Walkietooth works on it, thankfully, meaning local communication/video feed is a thing, as does Wi-Fi Walkie Talkie, and stuff like BlueChat. Could probably run a couple of other things if I signed into Google on it, but I'm not sure I want to, I want to keep it disposable, so to speak.

You could create a disposable Google account just for these sort of things.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition that I just recently repurposed for in-car navigation and streaming music. It's stuck on Android 4.4.2, but Google Maps, iHeart Radio and Tune-In Radio all work with the multi-view function. I'm tapping into my smartphone's unlimited data plan with PdaNet+ on both devices and using a hidden VPN connection between them so I don't use up my 10GB limited hotspot data. I'd love to find a live weather app to go with it but I haven't found a reliable one yet that isn't crippled by ads.

Gosh! 15 years, 1000 of you tube and internet pages and just the same boring comentary and project. gosh y adap even if klunky some time as screen for my ardnuino micro bord (samsung galaxie7)....even use as screen for my scope(iphone5)...ok toutch screen do not work, and the circuitery is twice the size of the screen....but no one think of making a tv projector...as for android tablet. gosh my old phone is 2440 dpi. y wonder the kind of projector you can make... personaly anyone who bring
a tv in my house whill by put to the pilorie....or string to my Shortwave radio antenna by the big toes...Still guy a little bit more imaginations....
