Have you read "Take a Hint, Dani Brown"? it's by Talia Hibbert and I think based on how you described how much you'd liked Abby Jimenez you'd enjoy this. Talia has 3 books in the "series" but Dani Brown is a great standalone. And it's witchy!
Yellow is also the colour of anxiety, because (depending on the shade, typically bright yellow) it’s also a striking/cautionary colour that can also not be the most calming colour at times. 🤣 I’m also curious on what you hated about being a librarian?

Some great authors I’ve read this year are Peter Swanson, Riley Sagar, Patricia Briggs, Preston Child. Each author has a ton of awesome books.
