Here's what can happen between piano chord changes. This tutorial demonstrates three approaches: chords only, improvised melodies, and combining chords + melodies.
Thanks for this.God has provided for me with this blessing of a video.Praise be to Jesus Christ!
thanks Daniel :-)
Thank you for sharing this. Your playing is so peaceful and beautiful. Glad I found your UA-cam channel. May the Lord bless and keep you in Him.
Thank you for giving more time to just playing and demonstrating the technique. It helps. 😀
Awesome tips brother thanks for what you’re doing 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎹🎹🙏🏼🙏🏼
thank you!
You have a great feel and a sense of space on the piano. Very nice indeed.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this. God Bless you
Very nice. If you could call ourt the numbers while playing. ..would be very helpful.
It took me forever to find a video on this technique. I’d hear so many amazing pianist use this filler technique but never knew what to call it before I found your video. How did you learn about this technique?
I don't remember how, but glad it was helpful!
This is beautiful
Thanks so much!
Thanks for sharing these videos, they are so helpful!
thank you!
Would really appreciate it if you could make a key of C major for beginners like us. God bless you
could you please do a chord only approach with patterns of playing video??! will be grateful!!!
Good stuff bro... thanks for sharing.
You're amazing..
Loved it..
But it was like helmet-shooting..
I didn't get a thing.. Haha
Loved it anyways
This is wonderful! Thank you! I do have a question though. At our church, we have a keyboard and a piano, and for right now I'm just doing chords with no fill in's as a beginner. When I do start filling in, do the keyboard and the piano have to be doing the exact same fill in? As I said, I've only been chording for a short time and need some advice, so I really appreciate it!
Hi Leah, is everyone hearing you when you're playing with the piano? If not, you're free to play in between chords. If they are hearing you, than yes, you have to be careful not to step on what the piano is doing. It's best to play a different type of part, like sustained chords with a pad, melodic lines with strings, or some Hammond B3-type organ playing. I have some videos on those if you need me to steer you in one of those directions. :-)
U mean 9th, 11th n 13th not 2nd, 5th, and 7th? but how do you break the theory of this down for beginners
Thanks for another cool video. What are you using to light up your keyboard while you are playing?
midiculous, overlaid in the video editor
OurWorshipSound awesome.
OurWorshipSound Are you using screen flow?
No, I just use QuickTime to record my screen
Is the Holy Spirit song you're playing the one by the Torwalt's (Jesus Culture) or a different one?
What piano is this?
Thank you! 😍😍😍
wow, great video. may I know what songs did you use for your examples? thanks a lot
Great Are You Lord and Holy Spirit
sorry, I'm from the Philippines, I really don't know the artists for these songs.
superbe
thanks!
Nice video
QUESTION the notes between the chords you just played is considered melody or harmony embellishment
It's mostly a matter of how you want to think about it. I tend to think of in between notes as either rhythm based on the chord notes or melodies.
I have Yamaha Dgx 660....what can I buy to get it to sound like your piano?
I'm not sure if there is anything you can upgrade on the DGX. The best way is probably to hook it up to a computer. I recommend a Mac (how to buy a used one: ua-cam.com/video/u_3KjSrXjcE/v-deo.html) running Mainstage ($30) software. I use it almost exclusively now. For more, I have a free course available: getstartedwithmainstage.com/ I hope that helps!
OurWorshipSound thank you
:) thank u
What keyboard are you playing... Brand and model please 😍

Hi Peter, I have the Fluent Piano Course Notation .pdf and am wondering what the Fluent Piano videos have that are different from the pdf? Thanks!
Lots of video instruction - the pdf is just a reference
If I purchase these courses, will the new content be included with what I would get now? Or will they be entirely different courses?
not entirely different courses, you can get it all now
Thanks Peter. I got the Fluent Chords and Melodic. I think the third was Mainstage, but I don't have that program or a way to use it.

Great piano, but you need to get some real worship songs that aren't just written to be crown pleasers!
"Real worship songs." You sound fun.
