I remember hearing MB on WKCL 91.5 Charleston SC ( the song Who Am I Jesus) in the mid 80's and my 1st reaction was, when did Nancy Wilson of Heart started to sing Christian 🎶? My introduction to Margaret Becker and we still play her CDS in 2024! ❤❤❤
I rather wish CCM was still producing artists and music like this. The trend for worship music has its place but wow, this is artful craftsmanship in songwriting. I wish there was more of it.
no the trend for worship now seems to be a lot of hooplas Shiney over-produced nonsense I'm a songwriter I saw Jesus plug his ears one time and throw some papers around and scribble something down in the book of life ...and then he said to me he said over produced overproduced ..I think the whole ccm movement has lost it bloom I just think Music is Music just feel out what you like and enjoy it while we have it So many negative comments toward well-meaning writers and Artists that have a standard Message of Gods love I love a lot of ppl I ministered to A crack head smoking crack in front of me worshipping Lucifer in a dirty dusty shed I ended up staying in to escape a guy who was beating me up all the time So I sang to him one of my songs .... ...that guy wanted to kill himself and take me with him I became a street Missionary for a while Find me Find me Ill wait for you ......a dying God on a cross I ll wait for you .....xx
This reminds me of my teen years, for sure! Margaret is still my all-time favorite. And, for some reason, this is playing in only one earbud, which is also reminiscent of headphones on their way out. 😅
about to do a women's retreat. SO happy the coordinator mentioned this song. I sang it to death in the 80s and look forward to opening the retreat with it. Thank you for posting it so I could see MB's performance - how wonderful after all these years!!
I had this on VHS and it got lost somehow. Thankfully I have the CD's. She is one of the best from the CCM crowd of the past. The Christian Community has a way of forgetting these trailblazers. Perhaps they'll be rediscovered again.
Talented...yes. Trailblazer, not as much. There were just as talented artists before her that made sacrifices. She came into the scene just as the the CCM market was on an rapid upward market trend in the 80's. However one of the few artists not to go sideways in their later years.

I was there! This was filmed in Ft Worth, TX and I won tickets. Margaret was the second half, with Charlie Peacock going first. What a night.
