I would do this mod but skipping the 2 4020 part cooling fans, blower fans have MUCH more static pressure, just get 2 sunon 5015, put them at 85-90% power and they'll be really quiet
Do these axial fans actually provide a good airflow for model cooling? Axial fans are not known for their static pressure, that's why I think using radial (blower) fans might be better idea, although they are louder. Another note, I am in the process of converting to linear rails as well (parts ordered). I was also hoping this would make the bed movement more silent, but if you remove the Y axis belt from the stepper motor and move the bed, you'll notice, that the linear rods are actually pretty quiet, it's the motor that is noisy due to high acceleration/speed. The problem with the rods is that due to not-so-good QA of Creality, they might be bent.
You are right, the axial fans are not as powerful as the radial ones, but that doesn't affect the cooling unless you are printing very small objects at high speed. For the Y Axis also what you are saying is true, it is the motor what is causing lot of noise, sometimes it makes rattling noises just by holding position.
