Man, this guide is really the definitive one. I bow to the master. I loved seeing that you added a lot of tips that didn't take place on the previous tutorials, like using the bloater cloud in your favor. Thanks to you I also have 120+ solo wins on daybreak, and I can say for sure, I have nothing to add here. You've covered everything. I'll watch all the uncut versions just because I love watching you play and I always learn a lot doing it! Thanks again for the great work!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. RVID is the undisputed master of sod2 guides! Can't say how much I appreciate having your guides when I play!
Wow... very good guide. You know Content Creators like RvidD should get an early access to the upcoming SOD 3 and therefore will be able to show us first game time. That would be awesome. I hope Undead Labs will do this.
I hope game devs kill this trend. Videos like this shouldn't exsist simply because games are supposed to be experienced and enjoyed... if sod 3 has another "daybreak" mode I will be disappointed. You should be able to hire red talon through standard gameplay and the red talon merchant should require influence. Prestige is an immersion breaking mechanic... start up a game, set up a base, get a few survivors in a good place with skills and such then run daybreak for a few hours and get a contractor and 15 Pyro mines. Then play the game until you can get your hands on a rifle bullet press. Once you get the bullet press play daybreak for a couple more hours and buy an assload of weapons and use it's salvage to mass produce 5.56/7.62 ammo until you can find a gun with 75-100 round mag. 3 med kits, 4 tool kits, 2 gas cans, 9 Pyro mines in the trunk and you could steam roll 15-20+ plague hearts on nightmare in one trip. You don't even need to leave the first base if you get the right outposts upgraded. Killing 10 plague hearts give around 80 samples that's 4 cure packages or 2k influence. Enough to hook your base up with power. Your base could have 5 survivors flourishing killing hearts at will virtually uncontested after the 7 in game day mark... with no pool of survivors. Get the quartermasters prefab with whitenoise and morale will never be a problem. This game needed lethal for longevity sake... the player could just choose to not use broken things but it's dumb to not use everything at your disposal.
I ve just got ym first solo daybreak win and I will for sure keep winning thanks to you. Your guide are the best; thanks for doing overall such amazing content
I was playing with a friend but this information still did work for the most part, even though it was our 3rd ever run, amazed we won so early with almost none of the gear
OP Guide, quick tip, you can turn off the multiplayer option and this will allow you to pause the game so you can take a look at the guide between waves
Was long time in my "to do list" to get "Hoard Mode" achivement, THX to you on 2nd try done! Who would say its enough to organize inventory to win. Minefileds on last wave close to technician was also crucial for win.
When I first learned to survive beyond wave 5, I found that it's really useful to have a system for where you drop your supplies. For me, it's stormbringer & ammo on the left, then cleo ammo, then explosives, then healing items & stims, with plenty of space in between. When you need to pick something up, it's really useful if you know exactly where everything is instead of having to first find what you are looking for before picking it up. On weapon choice: I use the shotgun and have usually ended up with a bit over 600 kills. I tried the battle rifle once: it wasn't a clean run (lots of breaches, got chewed on once or twice etc) but ended up with around 5 % more kills. It's weaker than either the blast rifle or the shotgun, but against regular zombies it doesn't matter. I'd call it a good choice if you can land headshots on moving targets. The selling point for the blast rifle is that it has a scope, but I find it pretty awkward to use with mouse & keyboard. Picking up rocket pods one at a time is really good advice, I've wasted lots of them by fumbling the detonation.
@@StateofDecayScience Yeah I got them as well! Defo gives breathing space from the jugs. Anyway, I finished DB about a half-dozen times now thanks to you. Cheers!
@@Bad_Place_Alone Have you tried solo Daybreaks before without using the fragile armored zombie strat? I'd like to know how easy/difficult it is to handle the first 4 waves with this strat (because shooting armored is difficult). I know it becomes easier once the strat takes effect.
@@StateofDecayScience Yeah I tried it a few dozen times - and could NEVER get past wave 5, so I hunted down your vid. It’s more time consuming to stop and shoot them [and very counter-intuitive] but well worth it once you reach wave 5. I’d say it was easier, but I had a harder time managing the jugs in those runs so it’s tricky to say. But the jugs were never the issue. I saw the death-cam with Sasquatch chewing me out with the relay surrounded by armoured zombies enough times. In all honesty, I really should’ve equipped the cleo shotty sooner.
RvidD, I really respect your commitment to this game, the testing you do, and the way you present this information to us. I hate this mode but will try it with your methods in mind. Thank you so much for this
@@Jackfromshack hello! I have tried that on several occasions. It’s not panned out so well. Either early quitting/lack of mic or communication/mine or there general error or lack of skills resulted in a negative experience. Appreciate the feedback though. I take it you enjoy this mode?
May I ask how the fragile armored zombie thing works exactly? Thanks to your guides I've moved from mostly losing on wave 2 to making it to wave 5 on average (usually if I get dual rifle squad mates and I start rocket pods/CLEO Shoty) and I've noticed I usually do start seeing them go fragile around 1-2 minutes into wave 4, but I haven't seen anything online about it like on the wiki or Google, and I don't see any indication that it's activated when it starts working in the actual game during wave 4. I'm curious if it's an intended mechanic or a bug and if there are any other "hidden modifiers" or whatever you want to call them
Do I have to kill the armored zombies with cleo firearms in the earlier waves in order to trigger the fragile armored zombie mechanic, or can I kill them with any firearms and it will trigger the mechanic?
Since it is mostly a cinematic trailer, there is nothing to breakdown. The little gameplay shown looks like it is made with manually spawned zombies and incomplete zombie AI. So people can enjoy it as it is without someone telling what they are seeing. If it is a gameplay trailer, I can find things/mechanics by looking at it. But this is not it.
unrelated to this video, but is it possible to bring a juggernaut to near the end of a single phase of their health with meleee, then use headshots to transit to the next phase, will this damage the head and increase headshot damage?
If I understand your question correctly, yes. If you deliver melee attacks or body shots to take out 2 phases, there won't be any head damage. But if you deliver headshots to take out the 3rd phase after that, his head will reach the most weakened state directly.
