You guys have the most fun and entertaining knife related videos on UA-cam, and I love that you make the advertisements as fun and entertaining as the videos themselves! 👍
Better rule if it cost less then a woman at a truck stop it's probably going to hurt you about the same as having relations without protection with that truck stop lady of the 🌙 night. Just a little trucker lot lizard humor 😜 😄
@@DutchBushcraftKnives I think when you look at modern manufacturing there is really no excuse for such a crappy knife like this fosco one... I am a hobbyist knifemaker and junk like that makes me cringe! Keep up the good work guys...and the humour :)
@@DutchBushcraftKnives A "survival knife" is the knife you carry when the situation arises. In Holland it will not be a fixed blade since they are illegal to carry in public. Ergo, when push comes to shove your "survival knife" will be a folder. I personally carry the ad-10 or 4max from cold steel (not much of a difference really though i lean towards the ad-10) in combination with a 32 year old swisschamp from victorinox in the "sos sheath" from long ago, filled with usefull items. In fact, the heavy knife is only used for woodprocessing and eventual defence.
I watched a "10 survival tips with a Swiss Army knife" video and it was pointed out that if you're going to baton with a folder, you should keep the blade at a 90 degree angle to the log; so half open the blade, rest the handle against the side of the log you're splitting, and the blade on top. This will cause the downward force to go through the blade and into the wood, rather than along the blade and into the handle. You can make smaller cuts like that and then use a wedge (conveniently made w/ the Swiss Army knife) to split the rest of the way down. That being said, yes, this particular knife is garbage and it likely would have broken anyway; but it would be a fairer comparison to a fixed blade if you held the folder at a 90 degree angle when batonning.
It would be interesting if you purchased a vintage Robert loveless knife and tested it. He was the godfather of knife making and stuck by his claim that hollow grinds can be as strong as convexes.
Great shot! The battery falling out was perfect! I wouldn't make a pot with that metal! Almost stretched a hole through it, like shooting warm taffy...
I would like some Peter Silly with my salad please... de manier waarop jullie "accessories" uitspreken is echt hilarisch! Probeer "uhk ·seh·sr·eez" of "uhks ·ass ·suh ·reez". Als altijd Top video!!!
Maarten and Mikkie B. You are great guys keeping up every week! I love when you have guest stars! Each you have selected was charismatic!!! Each enhanced the show! Thank you for this video!
Ah, DBK fix for the week. I have to say I enjoy the tests y'all do and after the batoning of the pan and bone still cutting phone book paper is impressive. So now a new knife to add to the list. Thanks guys love the test and the knife.
I wish no one had to make this type of Vid! Thank you for doing V-logs like this, it is scary what can pass as a Knife today and your 100% right dangerous, without a doubt. Thank you ,also for the Laughs!!!!!
Kind of reminds me of tuna salad here in the USA we use tuna, pickles, onions, some people add hard boiled egg, shredded cheese, salt, pepper and bread which ever you prefer
Would be interesting to see some side by side comparisons, cold steel and SOG pre sale to GSM...and post...see if the knife quality has suffered from the sale.
Fosco is a mystery to me, i had 3 fosco trousers, wore them in tropical rainforest, 2 fell apart, other one was great.....i think fosco is a brand that buys stock from anyone and everywhere, put their logo on it and sell it as "fosco"......roll the dice.....maybe you are lucky. I won't buy fosco anymore.
Hey, can you test a Cold Steel Facon? I'm curious how it does on food prep since it's basically a giant chef knife, but I also want to see the practicality for chopping and splitting.
It’s true that most things sold as “survival knives” are pretty bad. Even worse are most of the ones advertised for “first responders,” EMTs, firefighters, rescuers,,etc.
The funniest part about the video is when Mickey is cussing out rhe knife for not working with the fire steel when it is working fine, AND he is using the worst possible method of fire steel use. Go watch Gray Bearded Green Beret's fire steel video to see the right way (you hold the striker still and pull the steel towards your self). The method here is the one everyone uses at first, but is the worst one
Or you can get a quality knife that you can actually rely on with a great warranty and in the unlikely event a knife of that caliber breaks said companies will 9 times out of 10 replace it.... ESEE, Tops, Benchmade, and Bradford are a select few of many high end companies that have an excellent warranty and great customer service and those are just the fixed blade makers (excluding Benchmade, they do it all), If we were talking about knives in general I could list high end brands with great warranties all day
If you really want to find the worst folder, then maybe the original Zombie Hunter is the one. Nick Shabbaz had to order a whole box of them to get one semi functional knife to carry for a week when he won a bet about reaching a certain number of subscribers. Yes, punishment for winning. Quite funny watching him squirm.
That's by far the worst mayonnaise. It's completely tasteless. I get the big glass jars from the Albert Heijn with Belgian mayo. That tastes like heaven. Zaanse mayo tastes like grease water.
Those pellet rifles seem pretty legit been looking at getting one for squirrel control around the house. You guys have one you reccomend? And have you had a chance to shoot rimfire or center fire guns? Not sure what the laws are out there. Where I'm at it's pretty common that everyone on the block has a stockpile.
