My error was going to man for what I should have been going to God for. A marriage of the flesh is no fun. But God is so faithful and loving that He will restore you, heal you, forgive you & still bless you. There is life after divorce. His ways are not our ways. He doesn't go back on His word. He knows the plans He has for us a future and a hope even when we jack it up. I am speaking from my own experience then and where God has brought me today. I am blessed going in and going out.

I am going through separation right now and it has been such a painful experience. Losing your partner is one of the many pains, but how the church makes you feel like an outcast or a leper is the worst. I have been down low and suicidal. I have a little son who has to watch me deal with it all and I have most of the time plastered a very strong face for the sake of my son, but the whole divorce experience is like slow death. It literally kills you! I can relate to each and every word Pastor is talking about. How the partner leaves and then how carelessly the church handles such broken people is the worst form of mental and emotional abuse. I am fixing my eyes on Jesus for my healing-because people are people, they will always disappoint. I do thank God for very supportive parents & my son. Idk why but I'm feeling z same...guilt, isolation, panic attacks, relief sometimes, bad and good memories,...a trauma is something I can't bear now...can't talk about wiz friends, family or anyone. I feel like I'm dying slowly

My heart is so full of pain and broken into so many pieces. I can't take this marriage of 8 years anymore because it's tearing me apart, hurting my children, and making me hate myself more every day. How don't see how he could love you properly when he did not love himself. For him it is not that he doesn't want to, it his he doesn't know how. He has so much pain that he projects it onto you. Odds are he is still wandering around a prisoner to his internal torment. He needs a real relationship with Jesus christ. That is the only way for him to ever be healed. He may never admit it because he doesn't want to be vulnerable. However I believe it's the truth. Not saying take him back. Just wanted you to see that hurt people hurt people. I pray for your own healing and also his healing. For I know despite our faults God loves us all the same.
Should you not love your spouse more than you love your children? You would not ever give up on your children. So you should never give up on your spouse. God wants us to love like he himself loves us. Love is never giving up. Love is patient and love is kind and it keeps no records of wrong. When you have been married, there is no one else for you . God will never give you something that does not belong to you. Hence the reason that most remarried people divorce again. The odds of every remarriage after that keep going up when it comes to marriage failing. That is pretty clear to me that the first marriage cannot be broken with a piece of paper. You'll subconsciously carry the baggage from your first marriage for the rest of your life. Because it never ends. A year after divorce, statistics say that the majority of people wish they would have worked harder to save the marriage.
@@rosserscott4376 i agree with your response. I saw that fact years ago and tried to approach it with him. It turned out he was too afraid and didn't want to change. I realized that I can't help if he won't let me. I understood that his pain is something only God can heal but I couldn't and wouldn't stick around for all the abuse and pain he was putting on me and our children. He has many deep issues and I pray for him everyday. Its just sad and frustrating watching someone not care about themselves and wreck their lives right in front of you. You will feel unwell you will feel sick if you stay around it. Look up Toxic Waste. You will understand or you will not. Born again Christian from that day forward....I will be 62 in February. I have helped minister to those in my shoes...the people that have never been there done that can only try to understand. I was happily married for one year which means I was in the honeymoon phase when my husband cheated and then asked for divorce. Wow 😳 I noticed my husband (a physician) whom I thought was the love of my life and I his based on his own confession to me, begin distancing himself only about 6 months into our marriage and one year of our engagement. He (whom) I found out was a serial cheater and a womanizer. I found out through his phone. He ran out of lies and told me he wanted a divorce. I’ve never felt more pain. Very insightful, the way he broke down how to manage each stage brings hope. I’m going trough that process now and it feels confusing, uncertain, powerless, angry etc. etc. is a roller coaster of emotions. All I can say is God help me.

So if she didn't have sex with another man and you sign divorce papers and she thinks that she's single because of the papers then you are guilty of causing her to commit adultery everytime she has sex and if she gets married that's a lot of sex. If she didn't have sex with another man then don't sign the papers.

Yes, God can only restore. I also use to feel out of place because I was divorced. Why my ex could always be with lots of women? But now I'm at peace. God has never forsaken me.

I thank God for this sermon. My husband is an evangelist who had an affair with another man wife and got her pregnant and me pregnant at the same time. He is now living with another woman in our home now. And I am trying to get over the pain while living with my parents again. To Carmelie: if you decide to stay in your marriage; remember this. A soft answer turns away wrath (anger). Ask God to help you shut your mouth in the mist of anger because in the book of proverb says a wise woman is not of many words. Be wise and let God fight your battles in the spirit. Pray rebuking the evil spirit because you don't war with flesh and blood. Ask God to give you wisdom to do so and He will.
4 years later, so applicable for today. It was important for me to read this today. My husband and I are separated. I’ve fallen short in remembering my battle is with a spirit and not my husband. @@RJST91 sadly we are divorced. My ex was a liar and unfaithful. It’s something about the power of the Holy Spirt within. His light is bright, it calls for accountability and correction, and when someone isn’t being lead by the Holy Spirit, their behavior makes them want to hide from it. I was willing to reconcile, through counseling of course, but he was “ too embarrassed “ he said I deserved better, And that I would never trust him again, so he left and divorced me. My ex wasn’t a man of God- he was a man who knew God- there’s a grave difference.

Divorce is very painfull especially when children are involved in the Marriage. Me and my 3 Siblings grew up in a broken home it affected us the Children from infant stages to our Adult stages.

My error was going to man for what I should have been going to God for. A marriage of the flesh is no fun. But God is so faithful and loving that He will restore you, heal you, forgive you & still bless you. There is life after divorce. His ways are not our ways. He doesn't go back on His word. I am going through separation right now and it has been such a painful experience. Losing your partner is one of the many pains, but how the church makes you feel like an outcast or a leper is the worst. I have been down low and suicidal. I have a little son who has to watch me deal with it all and I have most of the time plastered a very strong face for the sake of my son, but the whole divorce experience is like slow death. It literally kills you! I can relate to each and every word Pastor is talking about. How the partner leaves and then how carelessly the church handles such broken people is the worst form of mental and emotional abuse. I am fixing my eyes on Jesus for my healing-because people are people, they will always disappoint. I do thank God for very supportive parents & my son. They are the only reason for my life ❤️🙏🏼🌈 I hope everyone going through pain right now is healed in their hearts and i hope the hurting stops for you all.

Violence is a no no.
How don't see how he could love you properly when he did not love himself. For him it is not that he doesn't want to, it his he doesn't know how. He has so much pain that he projects it onto you. Odds are he is still wandering around a prisoner to his internal torment. He needs a real relationship with Jesus christ. That is the only way for him to ever be healed. He may never admit it because he doesn't want to be vulnerable. However I believe it's the truth. Not saying take him back. Just wanted you to see that hurt people hurt people. I pray for your own healing and also his healing. For I know despite our faults God loves us all the same.
Should you not love your spouse more than you love your children? You would not ever give up on your children. So you should never give up on your spouse. God wants us to love like he himself loves us. Love is never giving up. Love is patient and love is kind and it keeps no records of wrong. When you have been married, there is no one else for you . God will never give you something that does not belong to you. Hence the reason that most remarried people divorce again. The odds of every remarriage after that keep going up when it comes to marriage failing. That is pretty clear to me that the first marriage cannot be broken with a piece of paper. You'll subconsciously carry the baggage from your first marriage for the rest of your life. Because it never ends. A year after divorce, statistics say that the majority of people wish they would have worked harder to save the marriage.
@@rosserscott4376 i agree with your response. I saw that fact years ago and tried to approach it with him. It turned out he was too afraid and didn't want to change. I realized that I can't help if he won't let me. I understood that his pain is something only God can heal but I couldn't and wouldn't stick around for all the abuse and pain he was putting on me and our children. He has many deep issues and I pray for him everyday. Its just sad and frustrating watching someone not care about themselves and wreck their lives right in front of you. I pray for all of us who are hurting. Please ask Jesus to help and heal you! He is here with us all and I feel the Holy Spirit everyday in all things I do. Praise be to God!

I was about to get married TWICE but it never happened... I like to think that God has delivered me from those previous relationships.
We need more teaching like this in churches all over. Is it biblical to stay with someone who is trying to kill you? Who is beating? Do you truly think that that’s the plan of God for His children? And let’s not forget that the children are abused too in that kind of home. So we should get one partner and all the children messed up because of marriage.
Yes, God can only restore. I also use to feel out of place because I was divorced. Why my ex could always be with lots of women? But now I'm at peace. God has never forsaken me.

I thank God for this sermon. My husband is an evangelist who had an affair with another man wife and got her pregnant and me pregnant at the same time. He is now living with another woman in our home now. And I am trying to get over the pain while living with my parents again. I tried to commit suicide after I found out and I am still trying to fight that feeling. I know that the battle is not mine, it belongs to God.

I've come to understand more deeply about this topic by my pursuit of knowing who God is.
Only God and God Alone through the help of the Holy Spirit understanding the cross set me free when I wrestled about this issue. God is faithful, stay in the word.

God forgive me, divorce can be hurtful, but not everyone experiences this all encompassing “death” he’s talking about. I’m actually relieved after going back and forth for so many years. I guess there are some who are this distraught.
How did you get over your spouse? I have two girls by her. 12 and 10. I miss them.
Loving a wrong person and experiencing sexual activities with him ruined my life for 2years. I couldn't forget, let go and move on.

To Carmelie: if you decide to stay in your marriage; remember this. A soft answer turns away wrath (anger). Ask God to help you shut your mouth in the mist of anger because in the book of proverb says a wise woman is not of many words. Be wise and let God fight your battles in the spirit. Pray rebuking the evil spirit because you don't war with flesh and blood. Ask God to give you wisdom to do so and He will.
4 years later, so applicable for today. It was important for me to read this today. My husband and I are separated. I’ve fallen short in remembering my battle is with a spirit and not my husband. I have not allowed my anger to sin in words against him but I have remembered to pray against the evil spirit that indwells in him. I focused on my husband instead. Thank you 🙏🏼

@@RJST91 sadly we are divorced. My ex was a liar and unfaithful. It’s something about the power of the Holy Spirt within. His light is bright, it calls for accountability and correction, and when someone isn’t being lead by the Holy Spirit, their behavior makes them want to hide from it. I was willing to reconcile, through counseling of course, but he was “ too embarrassed “ he said I deserved better, And that I would never trust him again, so he left and divorced me. My ex wasn’t a man of God- he was a man who knew God- there’s a grave difference.

I wasn't married but I was engaged for a year. My ex fiancee and I broke up christmas night 2017. It was hurtful and I still miss her to this day, but I'm learning to get through.

Divorce is very painfull especially when children are involved in the Marriage. Me and my 3 Siblings grew up in a broken home it affected us the Children from infant stages to our Adult stages.
How did it affect you? Would you rather your parents stayed in an unloving or abusive if any marriage just for the sake of you? Would it have made you happy to experience them not loving it each and yet stayed? What lesson would that have taught you to take into adulthood?

God bless his soul. He is telling the truth. Divorce is very painful. I loved my husband but he did not want to keep us together. He did not want God. Therefore, the marriage ended. Thank you Lord for always being there for me.
