  • 3 days in NYC!!
We took the train down from Vermont, barely made it on time but we got there. I love traveling by train and much prefer it over flying or driving.
Our hotel room was not ready so we checked out some street art and got a Mango slushee and Mozerralla cheese dog from K-dog. Kevin was stung by a Yellow Jacket but luckily he didn’t need to see a dr but it did sweep up a lot!
We stayed at the Public Hotel and I just loved everything about it. Lots of great spaces, the lounge, the smooth bar, the rooftop oh and yeah the up grade to a Penthouse suite!! The room was so nice I could have just spent my trip there!
We went to Canal Street Market in Chinatown to grab dinner. I got the grilled/steamed chicken and rice combo with chicken bao bun and Mango Coconut rice.
    It was all so good!
I am fascinated by all of the claw machines that are everywhere now. I have yet to try one but the stuffed toys are super cute.
We rode the subway everywhere and it was an experiment for sure. It was hot, the trains were running on 30 min delays because of the heat but the entertainment never disappointed!
We missed cookie happy hour but we still got some yummy cookies and true to their name they were Gooey in the Middle! Yum!
The views from our hotel were amazing. I loved seeing the sunrise and the city wake up!
Our second day we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I got a surprisingly good iced macchiato and chocolate croissant
from a street vendor to fuel up for a day of looking at art!
The Met was enormous! I took 185 photos of just the Greek pots and only made it through 2 rooms of pottery in my first hour. I only saw a little bit of the MET and will have to come back and explore all of the pottery collection soon!
We went Korea town do a bit of shopping and lunch. I got some new sheet masks to try and then to Market 32 Food Gallery. I go a kimchi bun, Taiyaki and another Korean corn dog( the one at K-dog was much better)
Then we went to Teso, it had a huge selection of Japanese toys and Sanrio/ Hello Kitty items which my kids love. I’ll have to bring them here because there was way too much for me to choose anything for them.
The reception for Journeys Onward at the Salmagundi was wonderful. So inspiring to see all of the amazing artwork made by my fellow military veterans.
    Day 3
We went to Davelle cafe for breakfast. I got an iced matcha latte with coffee jelly and a berry and cream toast. It was so yummy. I want to try a few other things be we had a reservation at the Tenement Museum so we didn’t have time.
If you have never been to the Tenement Museum you really should visit. It’s a great experience and you learn a lot about what life was like in NYC a hundred years ago.
    We wrapped up our trip
to NYC going back to Koreatown for lunch then sitting in Greeley Sqaure while we waited for the train home. The best thing I ate this entire trip was the egg lab sandwich from Speedy Korean! So good I’ll be thinking about it for weeks!
It was a very long, hot, exhausting trip but so inspiring. Next time I will visit when it’s cooler and I can spend more time at the MET!
