Yeah like any other deck that takes skill in BO1. Im top 300 Mythic right now and you are forced to play low IQ dog decks to maintain rank or climb. 95% of my games are against auras/monored/black discard. Whatever works i guess
@michaelmorningstar1443 Not "any other" deck, actually. Monowhite control, for example, works extremely well against these ultra aggressive decks. Domain Overlord is a slow deck in comparison. The only way I've found to make it work half the time against these deck is cutting all the unnecessary cards like Scrollshift and the blue Overlord to make room for more cheap removal. The remaining half of the time, your opponent will still overrun you.
Dude, the answer is play cheap removal spells and more board breakers. In my case i tok out 3 zur's and some overlords, not the green overlord of couse. 2 more migrations, 2 of white sorceries that ban a creature with mana value equal or less the number of plains you control, 4 sunfall, 1 day of judgement. 1 jayce for mirror matchs and for white tokens control, 2 temporary lockdown
I have been loving Xur since he came out! In standard. His old version was one of my first money decks back in the day. He is a beast now with overlords! Totally worth wildcards. Esp with 5 year standard!
It's ironic that we associate Domain with Atraxa and Archangel when neither of those cards have Domain on them, and the two cards which did, Leyline Binding and Herd Migration, are both in this deck. It's literally a Domain deck, it's just not a Domain deck with angels in it.
Just here for the engagement. I can't watch this video because I'd rather watch paint dry than watch this deck in action. Otherwise, great content I'm sure

As someone who build some form of zur overlord deck pretty early (and ordered Zurs when they where still cheap) I see the mana base as the biggest issue. Not that the deck struggles to find the right mana. No the Autotapper is ones biggest Enemy. Want to play zur? Would be a shame if someone would tap all the white mana and leave black mana open instead.
It looks semi similar to my bant overlord deck. The main difference is I don’t splash for zur and have copies of caretaker talent. I think the biggest criticism I have of the list is that it needs some copies of split up. Split up is nuts. I’m surprised more people don’t play it. I’ve been between 80-90% win rate though, so I do think there might be something to these bant overlord cards. 😜
It doesn't do anything except ramp and pump one creature type in a deck that's not playing a kindred strategy. You're competing for the 3 mana spot too with Zur, Lockdown and impending green overlord or a 3 mana leyline.
Love ur vids and ur deck tecks. But This deck feels super broken to play against. I kinda hate it, just like the angel deck in pioneer, it feels braindead, just stack all the heavy costed overlords and enchantments (+beans), and spam cast spells until the opponent is tired. Standard has become way to powerfull of a format. Getting a 7/7 lifelink, deathtouch, exproof on turn 4 is not what I signed up for (and it's not like it's a cool niche interaction hard to pull of, oh no it's just what Zur does, just like turn 2 kills where so easy to pull of before ban). Don't get me wrong, I love those cards. I play them in domain, overlord domain, or temur dopplegang, wich are fun strategies. But Zur just feels out of place in the standard environnement considering all the support it has gotten from Duskmourn. It feels like a commander card (and I guess it was originaly intended for that). Zur creates weird games, but not the fun ones. That said does anyone know how to effectively sideboard against this appart from enchantment spot removal ? Since they all have Hexproof (like what?! stop) if u don't kill Zur on the spot, ur prettymuch dead. And if you even start going of, well we all know the sunfall next turn, that usually draws them cards, and ur back where u were 2 turns ago, a million 5/5 lifelinkers). So Any suggestions ?

I was straight tweaking at 19:11 knowing if you scrollshifted the lockdown you'd exile all the flyers and win

I’ve been playing UW Cats and it’s not the worst. Curiosity and counter spells really helps the deck a lot.
I use zur and calix together and it feels good copying and animating leyline bindings definitely a fun card

I use a variant of this deck. It's Op especially with leyline binding. It got me mythic. Zur is broken with leyline.

It's literally a domain deck, you play the 2 good domain cards lol. It's such a fun deckkkk, but I've wasted all my Wild cards on random jankkkk
