    That's a perfect setup for a 12 wt fly rod. You can tie a glass minnow imitation on a stout hook..

    Nice! Can you share the details on the spinning setup and leader? I hooked quite a few, but have not landed one yet at the beach.

      Fishing 50lb braid on a Van Staal VS 250. 80lb fluorocarbon leader. Rod is 9 feet. Rated for 20-50lb

    We had to do splice a line with a 275 lbs blue shark off Nova Scotia. We had 2 blue shark fighting each other and landed both. So cool, I still have the spliced line. There more to this story, but that’s another day

    I did the same thing in Pensacola when I went to visit my dad. Surf fishing, checked bait and it felt wierd. Reeled it in and found a surf rod, that had a shark on it. I just saw the tail as it got off.

      varakevin32 ohh yea i heared something about him( great stuff), but if im going to make that drive it would be for shark durf fishing , the tiger sharks there or just mainly the shakes there are huge man you dont want to take no 80w you need that 130 or ur outmatched and going to be there for 5+hrs😂😂😳

      @@BryceMarchetto you could brobably still use the spoons with the big build in single hooks that you guys use for spanish makerel over there or a smaller softplastic with a big single and lead on the line like a carolina rig but i guess you would want the hook in the top lip wich seems stronger than the rest of its mouth but i dont really know much about tarpon 😂
