- So here is Part 2 of our Street Weekend coverage! Owen takes the Datsun for it's first drag racing event, the rules for this event mean it must be a 'street car' and able to not only race at the strip but take on a 400 mile roadtrip in between drag strips from Santa Pod Raceway to Melbourne Raceway and back

Congratulations on completing the Event. Wishes for a quick and easy recovery. Glad the injury and damages weren't too bad.
Optimising and oversizing engine cooling is a must for these type of events even if space is always impossible to find.
After such a crazy weekend of driving and racing - congrats on the 10 by the way. For the camper to try take you out must've been freaky, hope the hand is getting better. And the camper survives

Think it’s going to help to soften rear suspension and put some ballast in the back ( I used to use 4x 25kg of cement in the boot of my 800hp rwd skyline )
Probably a weight bar in the back with some gym weights on it, we will get there

Yeah that's an easy mid 9s car, but not with your current rear suspension setup. Thankfully springs are cheap, but after that... once you start hooking you'll have to give me a call after you scatter your diff and stub axles.

You are not weight transferring to the rear tyres, wind all your coil overs to full soft. With softer rear springs and weight transferring all the weight to the rear tyres you will have an 8 second car. Remember, you travel a greater distance in a lesser time doing a higher speed.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the car moves around a fair bit while on and off throttle. Wouldn’t a sequential help with that a fair bit

A proper suspension set up you should get in the 8's.
