I really appreciated the story of Paul's father telling him to go for it instead of waiting. I think I'm finally really at that point. I'm going to look for this book and more from Paul. I like the setup of using stories to sell a message. I actually learned this from observing my old pastor in his sermons and have seen how it can be useful in a business context.
8 questions need to be answered (21:15): 1. Why should I listen to the story? 2. When did it happen? 3. Where did it happen? 4. Who is the main character? 5. What did they want? 6. What was the problem they ran into? 7. What did they do about it? 8. How it turn out in the end?
Great read for those who try to sell ideas, especially to large audiences. MBA's keep using "pyramid"(conclusion -> support for conclusion) and struggling to keep attention. PS Paul, did i hear it correctly "....when I was just 47"...?!
Thanks Yuri. And I don't remember exactly where in the discussion I would have mentioned my age. But I'm 49 now, my first book was published at 45, and I quit my corporate job around 46 or 47.
There are no subtitles.. Plz add them

this is relevent to me at the moment. found it on audible. look forward to listening.
Watch a few videos on storytelling on youtube and maybe some videos from Jordan Belfort ... probably a better use of your time
Glad you found the Audible version, Rob. I did the narration myself. So, if it doesn't sound like a Shakespearean actor, you'll know why. :-)
Paul Smith haha ill.keep that in mind, is there a return policy if my ears start bleeding? :)
Not sure what Audible's return policy is. But you're welcome to tease me mercilessly about it if that happens. :-)
