So many interesting books! The only one I've heard of is Katie's book (which is sitting on my bookshelf), so I'll have to look into some of the others!
So looking forward to reading The Trouble With Mrs. Montgomery Hurst. I really enjoyed Katie’s first book . Don’t think it’s available in the US yet, but I will keep an eye out. I liked your wide selection of titles in this video.
I'm minutes away from finishing the audio of The Safe Keep, I'm very surprised that this has been longlisted for the Booker. I agree, I also had a lot of trouble believing the actions and the changes of the central character. It all came out of nowhere. The broadening of the themes and history in the third section helps to redeem it, but I can't imagine that this will be shortlisted.
Green Dot was just so good, here I am professing to hate ‘funny’ books and books with pop culture references and then I just lap it up the second there’s Millennial angst and an affair with an older man involved. LOVED it ♥️
I love non fic in graphic (not novel) format, so I’ll have to see if my library has that one! I really need to get to Katie’s book! I’m going to end up being the last person on BT to read it 🙊

@@toweringtbr how about October for our buddy read? I actually picked up a second hand copy the other day, that was a good find. The intensity of Sunburn for me was more about the relationship and obsession so not disturbing but just a lot. I'll have to find you on Voxer.
@jenniferlovesbooks October sounds good. My email is in the description of my videos so hopefully you can find me. I tried putting it in a comment but it was deleted.
Thanks so much - glad you enjoyed Montgomery Hurst ☺️
‘kind of a thriller but not very thrilling, kind of a character study without any nuance’ 😂😂
@@ameliabarlowbooks I may have been a little harsh 🤔

@@LouiseReader interesting! Everyone else who I've heard talk about The Safekeep seems to really love it so I'm glad I'm not the only one!
I’m so looking forward to Katie’s book 🎉🎉
@@novellenovels Katie's book is great, you will love it 😊
I really enjoyed Mayflies and agree that it was a book of two halves. Brookside was epic.
@@spreadbookjoy haha, yes, Brookside was quite a trailblazer.
I recently purchased Death of a Bookseller, it was a cover buy 😅 I thought from the title it would be more cosy leaning
@@ReadingNymph hopefully you will like it more than me, I just went into it with the wrong assumptions.

I have wanted to read Sunburn for ages I need to prioritise it!! Great wrap up as always Jen 😊
@@CharlieBrookReads Sunburn has been shortlisted for the Polari prize as well, I'll be interested to hear what you think of it 😊

Sunburn sounds good but should I check trigger warnings since its intense? Would you like to do our buddy read in Sept or October? I'm on Voxer now.
