First time I hear that getting 3rd mark requires sitting on redline... I would actually disagree heavily on that, getting marks, specially on tier 10, requires aggressive gameplay as you surely will need assistant damage (spotting or tracking) to get marks.
In the tanks that I have 3-marked, I have some of my highest win rates. To simplify the issue: in order to get 3 MoE, you have to be EXTREMELY consistent. The easiest way to add extra damage towards your marks is assistance dmg, which by definition is helping your team. If you consistently play really well, you will win more battles. In all honesty it is bullshit to say that going for 3 MoE will result in less wins.

I definitely agree with your MOE theory. I find it odd that they don’t rely on win ratio at all, because that’s a huge part of the game since winning is always the primary objective of the game.
All the tanks I've 3 marked have been from being super aggressive and winning games. If you redline snipe you won't get the mad assistance which you need to bump up those MoE percentages.

i think that you should always go for at least 1 mark of excellence on any tank you can, this will let you know that your strategy in that tank is adequate and that you can carry your own weight in a game, its not that you are going for it, just that your on the right track to playing your tank well.

I agree, when you are losing a battle and are in a very defensive spot you can pick up alot more damage, many people just let their teammates get killed to get into out numbered situations.
I heard QB saying this often that you don't take the HP with you, but if you lose them, then from tier 8+ you have to pay a substantial price to get them back.
QB, I get what you are saying about playing selfishly to get marks, and I think it's probably true of the average player trying to get them, but the better players work by combining damage dealt with spotting or tracking (only one of the other, you can't have both in the same game). You get more of both if you spot / track people wherever your team is playing, so even though they have their own reasons their actions end up benefiting the team overall. There's a reason why most of the players who go for 3 marks have pretty good win rates. The same can't be said for XVM farmers though, since it doesn't consider any sort of assistance damage.
Exactly at 0:33 QB says "I'm sure a lot of you out there are thinking how the hell does QB does not have more 3 marks of excellence" also exactly at 0:33 MUST-FARM-DAMAGE-ON-JAPANESE-PIÑATA apparently that's how. honestly tho, spawning north on this map is so bullshit because of that reason. South has a mini defilade that lets you cross relatively safely into town. While in north you really need to hug the map boundary line in the hopes of not getting spotted and getting peppered by shells.
One of the biggest things that gets me is when people see the opportunity to hit tracks and do damage they rather aim at other parts really triggers me. Why would you not go for tracks and damage that’s a win win disabling a tank while applying damage. You showed time and time again that you do aim for tracks keep up the good work!
I totally agree with you QB. Most important is to win the game! Played against you on redshire the other day. You did not do much but at the end you still had 5 kills hence significantly increased your teams chances of winning.

I like Marks of Excellence because it tells me that I do well in a certain tank. I usually end up keeping the tanks I get multiple marks in (Crusader, Chi-To, and Jagdpanzer IV).

Well done QB! I have NO 3 mark tanks, so won't know the feeling. I usually don't play tanks for very long anyways. Think the best I ever got was 2 marking a little tier 5 because you had to unlock like 3 or 4 tanks with it, so the grind took a few games. Only reason, I suppose...
I just let the MoEs come as they may. I see them as a way to say it's in my personal hall of fame. I've 3-marked three tanks. The KV-1, the M44, and the Tiger. Those are some of my favorite tanks in the game.

Something weird had been going on with spotting mechanics since 1.0. I have been getting spotted at higher ranges in my high cammo tanks. In one particular game I had an invisible hover tank (E25) not get spotted by me until he was literally 20 feet away even though I was stationary with my binos up.
well done man, I just 3marked mine as well last week! took me a game of 11k combined to go from 93% to 94,5% AND then another 2 good ones to get there.
I feel like as a fairly good player, I can usually get one mark on any tank I play, 2 marks on a tank I enjoy or play more often, and 3 if I fully tryhard. While I don't like spamming gold, running full APCR or majority HEAT does help for securing that 3rd mark. I think, rather than changing your playstyle, MOE is about consistency. Regardless of camping or playing aggressive, it's about playing consistently and consistently farming that 3.5k+ comb (or more/less depending on the tier/tank). I don't think I've ever had a game where I had to throw the win for damage. For me, my priority is the win. If my team is doing too good, the key is to be extremely aggressive without yoloing. If my team is doing poorly and I have to carry, I get my damage either way while trying to win. I love having 3 marks on vehicles though, because it really reminds me that I gotta carry and do good haha, versus doing stupid things every now and then.

Currently struggling with E-75. It's my favorite tank, the one I feel most comfortable with. I am on the hunt for the 3rd mark, currently at 89,75%. For me, MoE is a goal for this particular tank: the idea of fulfilment, to have done anything possible with a tank. That's the purpose of it. To be honest, I am more interested in Ace Tankers, than MoE.

the same thing happend to me in the amx elc ( i think thats its name, the small tier V tank) i havent played it after it was nerfed for a long time, after the first battle i got the third gunmark as well. i think the reason for this extremly increasing rating was, that my 99 battles of the unnerfed tank (plus 1 battle of nerfed tank) were compared to the stats of the nerfed tank. so basically that would mean that the players didnt get worse but me having a far better tank. i dont have any proofs, im just assuming.. maybe the hellcat was also nerf in this period of time you havent played it
MrJack If you had for example 91% on a certain tank and even if you don't play it for a while, it stays the same. After about 2 weeks or so, the average combined damage is re calculated. And after this time if you play a single game and get a lot more than the current combined average of all players with this tank, chances are that your mark of excellence % will rise dramatically by 4 or 5% (sometimes even more) after this single game. It depends on how well people are performing in that vehicle. Your MoE % can even drop like this in that battle, if you get worse combined damage than the new average. I hope this makes sense. Sorry if you cannot understand it well, English is not my first language.

Play the Progetto like you would play the Lorraine 40 t. Just know you have three rounds instead of four and that your magazine reloads one round at a time. Other than that, it's just a fast medium support tank with burst-fire capabilities. I've got a 68% winrate in it after 150 or so games. My WN8 in it is ~1900.

keep in mind that only the bigger number of assistance will count. so if you got 1500 spot and 1300 track only the spot assistance will count :)

personaly my goal when it comes to marks is to at least get 1 mark + a ace on every tank i play,and if i like the tank ill aim for 2 or 3 marks
I would really like to see QB mark the VK 72.01 by 'camping at the redline'. The obj 140 is one of the easier marks on T10.

I prefer my t62a, it's perfect combination for a medium tank, plus it has great turret armour
