If you take requests from the comments, there is a beautiful song called, “Perfect Memory” by a Birmingham (US) band called Remy Zero. It’s a song where the singer is remembering and dealing with his dad passing when he was young. Incredible vocals. If you happen to listen, make sure you listen to the album version. The band also performed the theme for the TV show Smallville called “Save Me.”

Richard Gere was an activist particularly on the Apartheid issue and Nelson Mandela. I think he endorsed the concert?

Matters arising... "Amandla Awethu" is Zulu for "power to us". And UB40 did indeed do both "I Got You Babe" and "Breakfast In Bed" as part of their set in this concert - well, it would be a shame to have Chrissie Hynde there and NOT do them, right?

I thought UB40 were brilliant when they first appeared on the scene and their debut album was great but they turned into a mediocre reggae cover band

nonsense four albums were covers the labour of love albums ....they still release their own stuff to this day thats as hard hitting as the early days.

@@citygav fair dues but I wasnt a massive UB40 fan because of that tirade of covers entering the charts so it just put me off listening to anything else by them
