@@AskDaveTaylor Moneyology is a term I thought of meaning the interdisciplinary study of economics, finance, and accounting (notwithstanding others perhaps using moneyology prior to me to mean something completely different, as i later found out) Training MMA taught me at a young age there are benefits to mixing skills especially related ones. I find economics, finance, and accounting to be very interrelated, and often times 2 or all 3 of them are overlaping to the point that any dichotomy or trichotomy is completely arbitrary(in my very humble opinion). And since they are all pretty much related to how resources have been or will be used, especially money, I thought they are each basically the study of money(and other resources of course). So to study all three together would be money -ology(the study of) and philosophy because I don't want my channel to just be about financial topics(plenty of youtubers already doing that) when there is so much more to life I'd like to talk about.
Dave, thanks for the video. Now I know that the physical scan button is iffy - when i first tested this out, I had thought mine was broken for the longest time! Much appreciated.
I can scan up to 24-25 documents with no problem. I also saw something in another video that was useful. With the larger documents its recommended that you support them with your hand. I found that to be a bit useful when scanning multiple size documents at once. Other than that this was an amazing review
This review is found to be very helpful, Dave explained everything that I had questions about, he made it to be very simple to manage, I am so happy that I came across this video review. I feel totally relaxed and confident that this is the right scanner for me thank you so much Dave for all of your help I will definitely follow your other video reviews, thank you again this review was awesome.
So, I am just now starting to set up this mobile scanner. It is mentioned that this does not need an internet or router wifi connection to scan to your phone? I will be in the car scanning and do not have a hot spot on my phone. I am assuming this will scan via the 4G network? Like a blue tooth? Thank you! didn't want to get too far if I need to return this. Thank you!!! Next day update:: I figured it out... it works beautifully folks! Seems you could power this unit 3 different ways which is perfect for me in my traveling business! Thank you so much for this video!!
It looks like you loaded the business card vertically instead of horizontally, that's why the scan was cropped. You can tell by the blank space that it wants it loaded horizontally. Just FYI.
i might be late but if you still want to know the epson es60W is more lightweight and portable if thats what you want but the es300W is still my personal favorite with its design and usability on all documents
You don't show how to configure the scanner with the the WiFi? how does the scanner know which WiFi network to connect and how does it become its own hotspot? Can you help with that?
Epson has extensive documentation, including what's included with the product, Ahmad. My goal was not to show every possible feature, just the key features so people could get an idea of how it works. Epson, however, covers every feature.
I dont' understand how you connected to which wifi. How do we know which wifi to connect to. You selected Direct but mine requires a password to sign into the one that says "direct". And the wifi symbol and the top symbol is blinking blue rather than staying solid
Not sure what you're experiencing, Lynn. I suggest you reach out to Epson customer service for assistance. Start here: epson.com/Support/Scanners/sh/s2
If you feed them directly into the scanner then the scans should be square. But they'd still serve their purpose of documenting and recording your expenses even if they're off a few degrees, wouldn't they?
I bought this because of the phone capabilities. I loaded the app and I got it to work one time but then on my phone the wifi showed connected with red and an exclamation mark ❗️ said no internet connection. What exactly do I need to do to make this work again? Or does the app have issues?
Sounds frustrating! I would do this: turn off the scanner and go into your wifi settings on your phone and 'forget' the scanner. Then turn on the unit and initiate the pairing process again. Hopefully that'll fix things!
Hi Dave! I love the technology you use to share your phone screen on the production screen. Can you please tell me which software or app you are using to share your phone screen in your production? Thank you in advance!
Not automatically, as far as I recall, but you can certainly copy the files to any location on your computer. I don't have the unit any more to test, however, so you could check with Epson too...
It simply can't be that you turn it ON and the scanner finds the WiFi and connects automatically without a password and then you toggle a switch and make it a hotspot?
I don't have it to test but seems like it should be able to work with any length document, even classic Roman scrolls. Okay, I made that part up. :-) But should work for A4 and legal docs too.
Does the scanner hot spot cost monthly do you need to turn a hot spot on your phone that will cost extra money? Is this a confusing question? Sorry not computer smart lol. Like what if you don't have hot spot on your phone.
Neighbor bought one yesterday and it had the most ridiculous instructions to set up that I've ever seen. Took over an hour because she has an older PC , but dam. Then All that would work is wifi DIRECT so you loose internet while working. The stupidest thing I've seen though is it has that SS USB wide microusb....whatever that's called. And I think she lost that cord that you never see those anywhere.
That's not cool. That suxs. It should support deskew and auto rotation on smart phones. It even cut off part of the card. And Epson just doesn't do searchable PDF worth a damn. I have an Epson all-in-one and many of its PDF files have less than half the text coverted. Especially if there is some white space between the text sections.
You were pretty good. I stayed the entire video to learn you did not address a paper jam. I cannot find instructions anywhere and I was counting on your demo to help me trouble shoot. Also, you did not share what that orange button is next to my blue light. At the moment, whenever I have a paper jam, I have to same my partial file, turn off then on my 300, then begin another file with the remainder of my files. I was truly thinking you were going to be thorough. I gave you a thumbs down for that. I feel badly but worse for me while I attempt to trouble shoot.
Ah, never had one with my testing but I'm not Epson and not sure it's logical for you to thumbs down me because I didn't offer a customer service video to help you troubleshoot a problem. But.... whatevs. Hope you got it all working again.
Great review! I purchased it and its working ok for me. Thank you for the video.
great video thank you so much. i just got this for my notary business and it being wireless will be a life saver...
Thank you! You have the only video on this.
Thanks I've been trying to figure out how to use this scanner, and This was the best resource I found keep up the great work💪
Thanks! And I have to ask, what's Moneyology? :-)

Now that would definitely be useful for on the go business/school productivity

Good tip on the larger documents. Thanks for sharing it!

Great video. I've got the es-400 in the office and it's a beast. This one should be perfect as my mobile back up. Thanks
Glad it helped!

Thanks Dave, your information is absolutely the best.
Thank you, but I was hoping to see how it worked with all those actual irregular receipts.
It looks like you loaded the business card vertically instead of horizontally, that's why the scan was cropped. You can tell by the blank space that it wants it loaded horizontally. Just FYI.
very nice video editing great job!
Very helpful! Thank you for such a comprehensive review
You're welcome. Thanks for the kudos! :-)
Thank you! Great review!
which one do you think is better?
ES-60W
Or this (ES-300W)
i might be late but if you still want to know the epson es60W is more lightweight and portable if thats what you want but the es300W is still my personal favorite with its design and usability on all documents
Can it be powered by a usb connection in a car, such as a Tesla?
Can I scan quickly, stacks of reciepts? Some products scan 1 reciept at a time Which defeats the purpose of the ADF When it comes to receipts scanning
You can flip up the document guides.
Ah, good to know. Thanks for that info.

I'm having the same problem.
@@AskDaveTaylor I FOUND the name of the scanner and Password on the bottom of the device! Important information to connect to it!
Thank you so much for making this demo! Have you tried to scan receipts with this machine? Will the receipts be skewed?
If you feed them directly into the scanner then the scans should be square. But they'd still serve their purpose of documenting and recording your expenses even if they're off a few degrees, wouldn't they?
Will it scan trading cards ? If so is there a maximum card stock thickness for the card slot ? Thanks

i wish you would have done a TWO-sided "Multiple" pages scan. I've heard it struggles and eventually locks up during this operation.
I'll try that with the next unit I get from Epson. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Dave! I love the technology you use to share your phone screen on the production screen. Can you please tell me which software or app you are using to share your phone screen in your production? Thank you in advance!
I just use the phone recording feature included with the iPhone in iOS12, Sean!
If you scan let's say 20 pages document double side.
Does it automatically merge them together in one file?
Does it export to outlook and OCR? I guess not as I just heard you say no OCR....thanks! Great video
kimberly baker it does have ocr.
So, If I take this to a home that’s got no wifi , can I scan straight onto a laptop . I am wanting to scan photos.
I would check with Epson customer service to ensure that your setup will work as desired.
Nice vlog. Question: Can you save the scanned pdf file in a created folder in the documents folder of windows explorer in the PC or Mac computer?
Not automatically, as far as I recall, but you can certainly copy the files to any location on your computer. I don't have the unit any more to test, however, so you could check with Epson too...
My phone can't find the scanner. What should I do? I been waiting for over 40 minutes for it to find the scanner.
I'd suggest you check with Epson customer support. Good luck!
It simply can't be that you turn it ON and the scanner finds the WiFi and connects automatically without a password and then you toggle a switch and make it a hotspot?
See my earlier response to you, Ahmad. Epson has documentation on every feature, including how to set it up on a wifi network.
Thank you! A really great video.
I haven't heard anyone call it a macintosh since the 80's
I've had 'em since then, so...
I'm a new notary signing agent and would have to scan both letter and legal size documents. Does it scan legal size documents correctly? Thanks.
I don't have it to test but seems like it should be able to work with any length document, even classic Roman scrolls. Okay, I made that part up. :-) But should work for A4 and legal docs too.
Is the bigger scanner easier to use?
Does the scanner hot spot cost monthly do you need to turn a hot spot on your phone that will cost extra money? Is this a confusing question? Sorry not computer smart lol. Like what if you don't have hot spot on your phone.
No Internet connection is needed, the scanner connects to your phone or another device wirelessly.
Dat high school yearbook background tho
haha, yeah, kinda. 🙂
Great Product but after a few months mines just stop powering on
Thank you! Very helpful
Thanks! Do you think family photos would be OK with this - or would they get damaged? Can it save as jpeg automatically?
I think it's safe for your treasured photos but cannot, of course, guarantee it will go off without a hitch.
I can't find the app for my phone.
Check with Epson customer support to see if they have a new app for this device now!

Auxilio
This printer cannot be used or the driver cannot be downloaded until a fee is paid. Do not buy it
Can you share a link so we can see what you're talking about? Were you checking on the Epson site itself, and what OS are you using?
