In this "I ordered..." series, I will document my journey to convince or encourage customers to tip when using Uber Eats, DoorDash, and SkipTheDishes.
This series aims not only to educate drivers about what goes on when customers order food on all these gig apps, but I also hope I can encourage customers to add a tip every time they order in this current economic hardship.
I plan to order a variety of food items such as pasta, curry, soup noodles, fried chicken, steak, and desserts and tip at various price points (even a $0 tip) to find out if the amount of tip does affect the speed at which my food gets delivered and the integrity of my meal as well.
Ultimately, I want both customers and drivers to win.

1. He took it because it was most likely stacked with a good paying order.
2. $47 for 2 small pizza and a garlic bread AFTER DISCOUNT? Not worth it. You could have probably ordered directly and picked it up yourself for way less.
3. If you felt bad for the driver, you could have met him at the restaurant and saved him a few km's. I do this with DD because sometimes if I sit at the restaurant I order delivery from, DD will send the order to me and have me deliver my own order. I just set the restaurant's address as the delivery address. If they dont send me the order, I meet the driver at the restaurant and save him a few km's.

30% off is bad considering that uber's fees and food markups is usually around 40% over buying in person.
I usually get 40% or 50% off $25 minimum and that only covers the fees.

It was subsidized by another order that was stacked with hers. If not, it's still on the driver for accepting it. They knew it pays $3 and they still willing to do it. It's never the no tippers fault because they've made it clear that they didn't tip and you agreed to deliver it.
