O filme mais romântico que eu já assisti em toda minha vida. Não precisou de um toque pra os dois saberem que um amava o outro. Eu gostei do final, em um contexto de guerra, as coisas absurdas que estavam acontecendo, foi bem realista.

I can understand the girl and grand father feel like their home is being imposed upon. He tried so hard to be civil to them if just a little conversation something more than just glaring at each other would have given some of us a little more reason to hope. He knew she loved him when she prevented him from getting blown up. He is a beautiful man I would not have been able to keep my hands off him.
It's a love story without" ROMANCE" , wouldn't describe it romantic, but "Sublime". Pure, restraint, silent, unrequited, till at the end, the first time she broke the silence, with one word "ADIEU", and Werner saw, her in uncontrollable tears" he knew, that he was deeply loved by Jeane. In Werner's part, he'd shown so many instances of affection to Jeane. I think, Werner was listening to silent jeane's heart, deep down like the undertone of the sea, Jeane's heart was silently beating for him. "Silence de la Mer".
It has some similarities piano payer and composer but Vercors story is more intimate and short Hé was a résistant... Irène nemirowsky descibes more thé life of thé french under thé occupation by thé nazis...
