The greatest live band from that era!!! No one came near the Quo in that period.
Abbraccio da Roma e buon caffè ☕️ ☕️ ☕️
These guys were huge at their peak, many No.1 albums un the UK, and around the world, infact just about the only significant market they never cracked was the US. Seen them 43 times over many years, fantastic live band - RIP Rick Parfitt and Alan Lancaster 🤘
You are witnessing the Best and Greatest Rock Band of all time at the peak of their powers.
Still a great band after 50 years Still rockin...
Quo also opened the biggest gig of all time. LIVE AID at Wembley stadium, London 1985. Got every news reel in the world. Rockin all over the world, Caroline & Don’t waste my time.
Are you nuts!! You need to check out more of their library!
Quo are the greatest rock band ever
Status Quo British rock n roll legends. One of the best live bands to come out of the UK ever! Roll over lay down UK no’9 ..1975. Massive right across Europe & Asia. They’ve sold 130m records worldwide & played over 6000 gigs to 35m punters. Massive back catalogue. Check out Quo at Milton Keynes bowl 1984 & Download 2014. This ain’t no bar band 😇
Lol...no, but that's what makes them great...they kept that vibe. lol
Quo has been going since the late 60s then chahge there image long hair jeans i have followed them all those years im 68 yrs
Brilliant Band Quo. Big up for this. Sir. :)
If you like music with grit and feeling a bit of Quo boogie "live", goes a long way. Lots of their tunes you need to hear. The best!!!🎸🎸
Great stuff. They were local to me - a south London band, started in the 60s and were huge in the UK through the 70s and 80s. Never really took themselves too seriously (I think they had an album called 'In Search of the Fourth Chord - yeah just checked - that was their 28th album released in 2007).
If you've never heard of them, here's some fun facts for you...... Status Quo are one of the biggest selling rock bands of all time with over 120 million sales worldwide despite very little exposure in America. To put that into perspective, some of the biggest acts, well known in America, have the following sales: Kiss 100m, The Who 100m, Led Zeppelin 100m, Deep Purple 100m, Journey 100m, Whitesnake 100m, Neil Young 85m (inc CSNY & CSY) Black Sabbath 75m, Judas Priest 50m, CCR 50m, Rush 40m, Heart 35m, Lynyrd Skynyrd 28m And oh, Quo have never and never would be "caged" Played to millions at festivals and stadiums all over the world
Fantastic! Thanks for the info!!
The Quo…The genuine article 🎸🇬🇧
Never played stadiums.. don't exaggerate.
@@petemanning4672…😂 He’s not… Stadiums Quo have played in the UK inc…Crystal Palace, Norwich city, Ipswich town, Manchester Utd & City. Celtic park, Wembley, Newcastle Utd, Worcester Rugby & Milton Keynes bowl in 1984 with 50000 in attendance. On top of that they’ve also played Wembley arena & NEC arena Birmingham over 50 times each. More than any other band.
Love it :)
This is the Live track from 1976 on their promo video, great sound.
Their greatest song in my view. Fancy being able to do that but becoming the version they did.
Famed for 12 bar blues, one of the first bands I saw as a 15 year old, years ago. They were giants in the UK, filled stadiums :)
Our band supported them a few times.. I knew Rick Parfitt really well.... David.
@@powerdavid6235 who were your band, may have seen you, never know
They never filled stadiums.. arenas.. but not stadiums...I saw them over 100 times up until 2007.. last time was on the reunion tour in 2013..
@@petemanning4672 On the 8th July 1972 they sold out Dallenberg Football stadium in Germany.. Go on, now say, "Oooh, I only meant in Britain". My band toured with Quo, I saw the huge outdoor places they played. including stadiums.
@@petemanning4672 My addled brain though I remembered them playing Wembley Stadium (other than Live Aid), maybe wrong. Looks like David got me right on a technicality though 🤣
Their 1st hit in 1968… Pictures of matchstick men was a worldwide hit, went to no12 in the US & no’8 in Canada. They toured the US in the 70’s & their gigs went down well, problem was a lack of radio play & poor representation in the States. Back in the 70s & early 80’s across Europe these guys were bigger than AC/DC, Aerosmith & ZZ Top put together. They last toured the US in 2003 on their Heavy Traffic tour.
In the seventies they were bigger than AC/DC, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath together!
Listen to their Doors version of Roadhouse Blues. 4500 times is the track as good as anything Zep Sabbath or ACDC ever recorded!!!
What can I say?, it's Status Quo.... David
I met the drummer from Status Quo in the Falkland Islands of all places back in the 90s
Very cool! I met some dude once that lost on the Canadian version of American Idol years ago...that is my claim to fame! lmao
Abbraccio da Roma e buon caffè ☕️ ☕️ ☕️
Yeh ....South London boy ..in 70's ....they kicked it ....great band ...then we liked it ...heads down ..rock n roll ...
Head down, no nonsense, mindless boogie
Quo were originally a British pop band until they heard and started jamming to Roadhouse Blues by the Doors . This was the inspiration that created their own trademark sound.
Ironic that you equate them to the band in the Roadhouse movie.
Just the vibe I got from them...lol
Must be me being a old bastard but come on never heard of them?
Nope...honest. Not till I played this song. lol
I fully understand you are not familiar with the Quo,I saw them two weeks ago and still sounding great, although lineup has changed.Status quo have had more hit singles in the UK than any other artists, including the Beatles. Take care, best wishes from Northern Ireland...
Thanks for hanging out! Best wishes from Canada!!
Saw them at Scarborough open air 2 weeks ago. Francis Rossi now 75 & still performing to a high standard…great gig & 8000 sold out.
