@@ReginaldSprinkhuizen For years (literally several years) I thought damage conversions didn’t affect retaliation. It makes retaliation builds way more flexible and entertaining 👊🙂
i can't even explain how much I've learned about this game from your videos. Tutorials just don't touch on the edges in an understandable way for the most part. Bravo and thanks.
Thank you for this, I have several ideas on Retaliation and you have helped me out tremendously! Also thank you for the Mention. I love the commando so much I have 2. lol, one soft core and one Hardcore. I now have a lot to process and will be doing so. Retaliation has been the bad guy in games with no damage, I would like to change that.
@@nfapeng187 Yeah, the search function makes the devotion screen much more accessible when you’re trying to figure out which constellations you need and how to reach them. There’s also search available at vendors, blacksmiths and in your stash, just not in your personal inventory.
This was one of my favorite styles to play in GD. Was so much fun and the double shield just melting mobs. I like niche type specs in games like this just wish you could do all content this way (pretty sure i couldn't finish total end game with it). Thanks for info on retaliation!
Oh yes, my favourite:) My retaliation warder is just preposterous. It's my goto character to check new areas, farming etc, because it just refuses to die. My approach was to get as much hp buffs as humanly possible. augments, devotions included. and obviously retaliation damage and resistances. i got ret. dam. records of 450.000 with 43.000 hitpoints. So what happens If you get damage, the regen. goes hard. but also, you get hp recovery based on %health. Which is so high, enemies cannot keep up. i.e. behemoth, or some fighter procs Another tactic with that is to get skills or items that disrupt enemies. so i.e. blitz, or the legendary belt with wildvine growth (which adds health as well). The less damagenincoming, the more your regeneration counts. As for doing direct damage, don't be bothered with it. mine is i think 10.000 or something. if its even that. It can be slow fights. only downside imho.
Got a warder as well with the dawnbreaker set, not as much hp but a lot of hp regen. This is also my goto. I deal around 50k-85k with savagery and around 100-400k with all the retaliation procs. My absolute favourite character to play 😁
@@loalen7561 same! after the patch 'only' 41.000 hp. but damage went up. current record is 451.000 🤣 i use the belt that does the vinegrowth, keeps less enemies on me. that worked well so far. still at 0 deaths:) called him Dreadnaughty. such fun:)
@@loalen7561 thats so awesome:) So many ways to build a character, even the same type. And ye, sometimes every proc needs to be active at the same few seconds, and then land a crit on a weakend enemy with enough hp. Those numbers are rare man :-))
I am a bit torn between the commando, warlord and sentinal retaliation. Probably only have time to make 1, what are your thoughts on the 3 different builds for retataliation? thank you
@@michaeltrull5788 In my opinion, the build choice would be based on how you want to play because they’re all good builds in their own way. Quite difficult to summarise each one on a basic level because there’s not just one way to play any of them. Warlord is probably the most meme/cliche retaliation build but that’s because it works really well and if you’ve not done a retaliation build before it’s hard to mess this one up. Commando can end up ridiculously strong (see AFK retal commando videos against Callagadra for example) and if you eventually get bored of retaliation damage it is not difficult to switch to a fire forcewave Commando build. Sentinel is ‘the best’ acid retaliation build and has plenty of scope for using attacks that add in retaliation damage so you’re not restricted to just using retaliation damage. Levelling an Occultist (half of the Sentinel build) is very easy if you go with Dreeg’s Evil Eye and acid-converted Bloody Pox - see my recent videos about ‘the best starter class’.
I never realized that conversion also converted retal damage. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the comment, it's much appreciated. Always good to hear this stuff is useful.

Didnt know you could search on the Devotion bar that is sick!! I just got back into the game. Never finished the 1st part till today.

Retaliation + Auras can get the whole way.
