    Nice review Mike. Your best strike carried at 272 yards and almost hit 300 yards, clearly not your longest hits compared to the Epic Subzero Driver
    I was really looking to possibly getting this driver, but now maybe not so much
    My club head speed isn’t as high as yours, I’m 104-108 mph. And generally my I’m a high ball hitter. Maybe with the right shaft I could game this club and not lose distance.
    I like the 460 head and the fact is has the highest MOI of any driver but don’t like that the face sits slightly closed. More of a reason why I like the Epic Subzero with its fade biased setup.

    What I struggle with is this is the most forgiving driver. I swing a driver at around 130mph (as you’ve seen in my lessons Mike) and produce really high spin but the low spinning drivers, cause some incredible offline shots. I know that’s my swings fault, but I’d love to see a low spinning, yet in some way forgiving driver. They’re either bombs allowing birdie attempts, or I’m 2or 3 fairways off line and blobbing

    Michael mentioned this, but the number of Tour Pro's switching to the Max is telling. And about 40% of these G400 MAX players came from the LS:
    PGA Tour:
    Aaron Bads
    Danile Summerhays
    Tony Finau
    Brandon Hagy
    KJ Choi
    Tom Lovelady
    Tray Mullinax
    Rob Oppenheim
    Seamus Power
    Martin Pillar
    European Tour:
    Scott Fernandez
    Matthias Schwab
    Connor Syme
    LPGA Tour:
    In Gee Chun
    Jacqui Concolino
    Caroline Masson
    Paula Reto
    Jane Park

    Nice review. Like you said, some PGA Ping pros put the G400 Max in the bag. Tony Finau, one of the longest on tour, has it in the bag. He might be a low spin player, not sure, but it really depends on your strike patterns. Thanks.

      Jan-Pierre Vidizzon I don't understand why they keep saying that high MOI drivers are for the higher handicap. Given that the distance stays pretty much the same, if anyone can find any tour pro that would say that they don't want a more stable driver, I'd buy that argument.

      Álvaro Ybáñez Agreed. I think part of the reasoning is the stereotypical male golfer ego. Most guys want to make themselves look and sound like a tough guy. So they need 1970s era blades, 7.0 low launch low spin shafts, and 400cc workable drivers.
      There definitely are players that need specs similar to that, who hit slightly down or low on the face with driver, but most players benefit from high moi designs.
      Lol, I heard a podcast where Scotty Cameron himself plays X flex in driver. Laughable.

      I game MP-32's (3-PW) but I use Ping G SF Tec for both the driver and the 3w. I play a fade normally and when I get out of sync I tend to over slice the woods. So why would I not use a driver that helps me correct my error, although I shoot in the high 70's low 80's? Isn't this about shooting low scores? xD

      Good attitude to have! It's smart to play what works for your game. I've played Ping i5 irons since around 2005; only now changing to MP-18 SC, and that's only because they gave me a significant improvement in dispersion, distance, and consistency in peak height and landing angle. All measured on TrackMan. Gotta play what works for the specific individual.

      Man I'm so jealous. I really want to get ahold of the MP-18 MB's... :) Enjoy them!

      Jeffrey Thames I agree , I think if you button this in the sweet spot you’ll get low spin #’s

    Surprised they didn't call it the G700 as it is max GI and launched at the same time as the irons. Does it mean a 700 driver is next up?

    • @MichaelNewtonGolf
      @MichaelNewtonGolf  6 років тому +2

      I'm more surprised they called the iron G700.......why not G400 Max and keep with the G400 family?

    hi micheal. forrsights efficiency is same as trackmans smash factor? if yes seems very low.

    • @strange0124
      @strange0124 6 років тому

      Youngsun Kim Different. Clubhead speed for Trackman slightly lower as a result yielding higher smash factor.

    I love the way Ping drivers feel and they are forgiving. Some of the best drivers out there... but I can’t stand the look of the turbulators...it just kills the driver for me... I won’t buy a Ping driver or fairway wood because of that.

    I heard you say the G400max is for mid to high handicappers but you hit a Hazardus stiff shaft no good for high or mid handicappers why not show how it goes with the stock shaft that's what most hackers like me will use.

    • @MichaelNewtonGolf
      @MichaelNewtonGolf  6 років тому +1

      Through custom fit you can have any shaft that suits you as a golfer. Me hitting the ‘standard’ shaft would be a waste of time as my speed is much higher than the average mid to high handicap golfer.

    Hello there Mr Newton. As I understand it, you could lower the loft a bit and that would open up the clubface to some extent. Regarding your videos. You are overusing the words "okay" and "sort of" so much that it gets slightly annoying to listen to. Sorry ! Don't mean to be harsh. / Thanks.
