Hi. I'm trying to put songs of Phantasy star 2 & 3 to Phantasy star 4 and I don't know how to extract the songs and put them on the game, I have the dissasemblies but the sound drivers are different and data is no compatible, do you know if this can be done or where can I ask for help?
I'm afraid I don't know how to do that. I feel like the only way to do it would be to rewrite those songs in PS4's sound driver, but I don't know if you know MML or whatever was used to code the music for that game.
i tried to launch delfemask after i installed it and trying to open it nothing happens and after transferring sdl.dll a file callled pass.tmp appears but is still not launcing i could get it to work only in rar and midi files doesn,t appear
Excuse me man but how can you change the rows of 1 pattern without changing the rows of the other patterns? i've been trying to figure out how to do it but i can't, and it's too bad cause i need that for some of the music i wanna re-compose in a PCE style.
You can essentially cut a pattern short by using the 0D 00 command. That will cause it to jump to the next pattern, but if you use it to cut the last pattern short, it will not work. It must be an 0B 00 command instead.
What I’m having issues with is that it asks for me to use an app to open it and it frustrates me. What exactly do I do for this because the website, manual, etc. does not talk about this issue
Hopefully you've figured it out in the three months since posting this comment, but what's the extension of the file you're trying to open? If it's the initial download, I'm assuming it's a .rar file. Which simply means you need to extract the files from there. If you don't have a way to extract rar files, winRAR and 7zip are both good programs that can solve this issue for you.
With this tutorial work for the mobile version of Delfmask? Because I’m interested in getting the app and it’s impossible for me to download the computer version.
A majority of the terminology should be the same (instrument types, instrument editor window, tracker columns) the only major difference should be the UI. But even then I made this tutorial on a previous version of DefleMask, before the UI was upgraded on the PC to be more user-friendly. Even still, hopefully, you'll still get the gist just fine with this tutorial. Good luck!

Of course, you've made it clear that you can't download the desktop version for whatever reason, so I'm afraid I can't help you there.
@@locochavo4560 From the sounds of it, you seem to be trying to select a song that you want to export to WAV format from the folder that you've saved the DMFs in. But the Export WAV button exports the song you've currently loaded into DefleMask. You have to open the song first, THEN export it to WAV. The reason the DMFs don't show up in the folder is because it's only showing files of the same type that you're trying to save as. The WAV export will work like normal as long as you first load a DMF into DefleMask.

Hey, thanks for contributing knowledge for the greater good. I just downloaded the mobile version of this app, and I’ve hit roadblocks I’ve been unable to thus far circumnavigate. Thanks again for sharing your wealth of knowledge. -S
+tsz wai Pang It should be openable in the program, and if you associate the file type with the program through the file properties, clicking on it will open it automatically. The songs normally have to be in the songs folder that DefleMask comes with in order for them to open, and depending on what system module you're using, the song should be in that system's subfolder (PC Engine = PCE, Genesis/Megadrive = GENESIS, etc.)
DefleMask is a separate program from FL Studio. There is, however, an FM synth VST which works in FL Studio known as VOPM. Google it and you'll find it.
I mean, technically it should be possible to fine tune the tempo if Delek really wanted to add that feature... It's not like actual developers couldn't give their songs specific tempos in their own sound engines. The only issue is that in trackers all notes have to be the same length unlike in the actual in-era musics whose composers could give each note a different length to change the tempo and you had a lot more lengths (at least 255) to work with...
Errr ... I'm afraid that you're making some basic mistakes. deflemask already supports fine-tuning the tempo with the "custom" refresh rate, even though that's not how games normally worked, back-in-the-day. Trackers/deflemask just quantize when notes start/stop, and their (quantized) length, usually in 1/32nd note steps per tracker row, so any normal note length is available. And even when using the NTSC 60Hz update rate, deflemask supports different tempos, just within the same stepped-range that game developers used back-in-the-day. Different deflemask "Speed" settings give different tempos ... 3/60s per 1/16th = 300.0 bpm 4/60s per 1/16th = 225.0 bpm 5/60s per 1/16th = 180.0 bpm 6/60s per 1/16th = 150.0 bpm 7/60s per 1/16th = 128.6 bpm 8/60s per 1/16th = 112.5 bpm 9/60s per 1/16th = 100.0 bpm
John Brandwood No, that's what I meant, developers didn't have to use quantized note lengths, they could use whatever length they wanted for each note, so you can get more precise variation in tempo by using non-quantized lengths. As you can see by your little chart there, you can only get a few different tempos without cheating by fiddling with the refresh rate because the notes have to be quantized to 32nds, whereas in actual games the notes can just be counted as x/60ths or x/50ths of a second which gives some more wiggle room. Of course this basically means what I'm asking for is a tracker that can have unquantized notes, which is an absurd suggestion :D
Unless you run to driver at more than 60Hz, then those are exact integer-multiples of 1/60s increments ... so those are the "standard" tempos that *all* developers used to use. You *can* get some in-between tempos by varying those base steps (adding +/- 1 delay every other 1/32nd note), and deflemask does allow that trick, as well as having note-delay and note-cut commands that give you 1/60s accuracy. The only other way (that I can think of) to get tempos more-variable than that would be to keep a fractional-time count and quantize to the nearest 1/60s. That is technically possible ... but I never, ever heard of a game actually doing it ... it would be a PITA to keep each measure sync'd up. BTW ... it for you your "unquantized" tracker ... why don't you just set deflemask's speed for each row to 1:1, and then you have the exact 1/60s or 1/50s accuracy that you're asking for.
