- All her life Shauna could barely say three sentences without stuttering but two weeks before her death, while visiting on the phone one evening I realized she had not stuttered once during the whole hour's conversation! I asked her if she'd like to tell her life story in her own voice now that she didn't have that challenge. She was enthusiastic about the idea and these interviews began and continued as long as she had enough energy.
This playlist of interviews have opened our eyes to the other challenges she overcame, the wonderful opportunities she was blessed with, and the humbling lessons life taught her. She was a fighter until the end but was anxious to get "home" and see her Grandparents, eat a good meal, and talk to Bach and Beethoven about their music.
Her experiences created in her a magnificent empathy and compassion for people who were suffering and a desire and ability to love others in a Christlike way. One example is during one of her hospitalizations, she sat by a stranger's hospital bed comforting him when he was in pain.
She was a gifted woman and musician who was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. Her life was extended ten years by a double lung transplant, but she faced many complications, eventually succumbing to the damage done from medications to prevent rejection.
We are grateful she was able to share her memories, stories, wisdom, and sense of humor with us and even more grateful she was part of our family. We miss her.
We anticipate these interviews will help bless your life as they did ours. She was ALWAYS a teacher and in a way, through these videos, we hope her teaching can go on.
