      @@thanagitlow939 hi good evening apparently its normal for up to 12 weeks its been almost 10 weeks now and it has turned a yellowish to whitish creamy discharge which is just a normal watery flow twice a day. Its tapering of slowly. Oh I also tied my tubes so im not sure if its because of that as well. Ik they said any smelly dicharge and pain to come back. Since mine is just normal with no pain and smell I didn't bother going in.

    Ever since I had my baby I’m had a foul smelling Oder. He’s 18 months and it still hasn’t gone away. My doctor did a Pap smear and std and sti test and everything came back negative… could it be lochia?

  • @clept8847
    @clept8847 2 роки тому +1

    Do you recommend reusable pads or period underwear? I just read from social media that you shouldn't, since the thickness of lochia kind to stop the flow and because people wouldn't change regularly can build up bacteria causing issues with wounds and stitches.

    • @thatnursingprof2661
      @thatnursingprof2661  2 роки тому +1

      I personally would not recommend that. Lochia isn't the same as a period and you are at higher risk for infection postpartum. Changing your pads regularly every 2-3 hours is very important to prevent infection.

    Hi I’m 11 days postpartum and I bleed off and on. It’s looks like period blood. It will stop and then come. It doesn’t fill the pad up or anything. It’s just like bright but kind of dark red. Just like period blood. I had a natural vaginal birth. It stopped after 2 days of delivery. Now it’s back of and on. Should I be concerned? Thanks

    I’m a first time mom. 6 weeks and 3 days postpartum today. Last week I was at my Alba stage until it started going backwards. I’m now back at serosa stage...I went to the doctor and she gave me a pill to stop it however I’m scared and haven’t taken it as yet. Is it my body still cleaning out or should I really take it to stop it? #ExclusivelyBreastfeeding

      May I also add,I got a 4th degree tear

    • @thatnursingprof2661
      @thatnursingprof2661  3 роки тому +2

      A few things come to mind 1. Everyone is different some bleed longer some shorter. 2. Breastfeeding is great because it causes the uterus to contract which should help with expelling the lochia. 3. Normally, when people go backward from alba to serosa it's because they are doing too much too soon and not letting their body rest and heal. 4. I assume what doctor gave you was something to help the uterus contract and expel the lochia, which is fine and shouldn't cause issues. 5. I'm sure they assessed you, but it is important that you distinguish any lochia from any bleeding from your laceration. Bleeding from a laceration will always be red (like rubra) but it is not the same as lochia. Hope that helps.

      I had that issue too where I bled for 3 months with two of my kids. First I got a epistomy and my second was a 3rd degree tear. I know the pain you must be feeling. Congrats on your bundle of joy. Try taking cinnamon in tea or any food you prefer it in and some dates too. I also heard that raspberry leaf tea really helps to reduce bleeding. Well the cinnamon is working for me now.

    My first baby was normal delivery I bled for 3 days, I had a planned c section 3 weeks ago and everytime i think it's gone,.it's back , it's not bright red but definitely just a lighter red is that normal , I'm completely freaked out ! And when I go to the toliet not a wee , it starts it again is this something to worry about, I'm just too embrassed to ask a midwive or doctor it's so much more than first time and that was a vaginal delivery
