Take your friends to county Donegal in the Northwest or Connemara for a wild trip. If you want a beach with swimmable water go to Portmarnock there's also an authentic Irish golf course on the beach, it's a close drive from Dublin airport. Throw yourselves in colder water on Helen's bay beach near Belfast. You can also book a sailing boat sea tour in Dublin and they get you to participate in hoisting the sails. If you come to Montreal where I live you can see Irish places like St Patrick's cathedral and many pubs.

I live in Cork since 15 years and I can tell you that the city changed “a lot”, it is not what it used to be…it is not as safe as it was…it is now plagued with junkies, migrants sleeping rough and unfortunate homeless people with obvious mental issues, it is very sad and there was several problems recently, specially around Oliver Plunket Street and the bus station.
