Thank you for the nice comments about my game Alien Marauders
My first computer and my most fondly remembered one.
Absolutely fantastic sound effects on most of the games past and present.
Thank you for pointing out the VIC 20. I enjoy playing mine and will get around to playing these games for it.
I feel that the VIC 20 is a greatly underestimated platform in modern times. While it will never match the C64, this decade has seen a resurgence of game development for the system that has produced a number of gems.
4:25 very smooth pixel animation.
Thank for reviewing my game FiZZ… 😊
Thank you for making Fizz, its been well received on the C64 and the VIC 20 and I like that you have tried something to differentiate the game from other platform/puzzle titles.

Thanks for this round-up Louie. The Vic is the closest Commodore to my heart being the machine I had quite early on and for a long time. Just the other day I tried Liquidator. It is my thing, once I'd got my teeth into it I couldn't stop playing but it is fiendishly difficult. You've reminded me about Murderise All Humans - I love Berzerk and I really loved this game (but had forgotten about it.) The entry / exit animations are really cute!
Excellent video! I very much enjoyed seeing what my very first micro computer can do in 2023. Excellent! Glad you fixed the title :)
Thanks for pointing this out, fixed it now.
Cheers!@@RetroGamerNation
Super Monza GP 2 looks amazing. The graphics are so good, it's hard to believe it's VIC-20. And it's not just a pretty picture ... it also has solid gameplay and tactics
The C64 version came out a few weeks ago and I think the VIC 20 version looks and feels better to play.
@@RetroGamerNation Thanks guys for the kind words about SMGP2. I ported it to the C64 to get some experience working on the system, but it's really a VIC game at heart. :)
So much love for the Vic !
surprising what can be done on the VIC 20. Nice
The VIC is my favorite 20. Love the simple 8 bit thing producing such refined games🤩
Monza may very well be witchcraft. Fizz looks like a game that you could scale up to any machine and it would be fun.
As a member of a different 8 bit camp (look at my handle), I find VIC20 colour palette much better looking than that of C64. VIC20 was a first computer I've ever used.
You may not be the only one with this view. I think this is somewhat visible if you compare Super Monza GP 2 for the Vic20 against the C64 conversion of Super GP 64.
OMG! I don't think I've ever heard VIC20 produce voice sound before. I had to stop and download Murderise All Humans. Played it on my THEC64 Mini. There is a fake update hack that lets you run VIC20 games. The large robot can delete the switches if he spawns over them!
nice video and nfo, thx
VIC-20 is alive yet.
Fizz is interesting and challenging game. But 35K requirement...
I don't know about the Vic version, but in Targ, the baddies do start shooting at you in later levels. It's a great game. I especially like the Vectrex version. It's great. Also, you mispronounced it targe, there is no E on the end Targ.
Interesting about the shooting, I played it on the Exidy arcade version as well and didn't see it there either, perhaps I need to persist with the game a bit more to get into the deeper levels.
I was kicking myself about mispronouncing Targ. All before recording I was constantly reminding myself to say it correctly.
@@RetroGamerNation I'm not crazy about the Exidy arcade version, though I have played it. Above all, I love the vectrex version. It's probably the best Vectrex arcade game.
Just so you know, I wasn't giving you grief about the pronunciation. I was just letting you know. I called Taito taytoe for years before it became it so common that Taito actually putting the phonetic pronunciation in their ads saying "pronounced Tie-toe"
Not to worry, no offense taken. I appreciate you pointing it out to me. Cheers
Interesting that comment about Targ. I’m the author of the VIC-20 version and was checking the original to try to mimic it as much as possible. Never realized enemies might shoot too (I guess I’m not good enough playing that game to reach the required level :-) )
